May is Arthritis Awareness Month, and we need to talk about the advice most people hear after getting an x-Ray and what many think arthritis means.

Nearly all of our clients before we work with them have either been told or think: “Rest it. Protect it. Slow down.”
The research says the OPPOSITE!

Exercise is just as effective as anti-inflammatory medication for reducing knee OA pain — with zero side effects. Strength training protects your joints. And the damage on your X-ray is NOT what determines how much you hurt.

At RISE, we don’t ‘manage’ decline. We build resilience. And that means there’s always MORE function and freedom possible than your current state…no matter what your age or x-ray says.

Swipe to learn what the research actually says — and how we treat arthritis differently.

There’s nothing quite like being on a dance floor and feeling completely at home in your body.

Dance is powerful. It builds strength and coordination, reduces stress, supports brain health, and fills you up in ways that are hard to put into words.

At RISE, we keep dancers moving. Whether you’re working through an injury, trying to prevent the next one, or just want a body that can keep up with your passion, we’re here for all of it.

And when the clinic closes? Our lofted dance floor opens up to YOU. Available for rent on nights and weekends through Peerspace, this space is yours to practice, teach, rehearse, or just move freely.

Your body was made to dance. Let’s make sure it always can. Let’s DANCE🎶✨💃🏻🕺🏾

To every dancer quietly pushing through that pain that will not go away, or the one worried about how much longer their body can tolerate dance: this one is for you!

The achy ankle. The throbbing toe. The knee that flares after class. The hip that has been “a little off” for longer than you can explain. Most dancers file it under the cost of doing what they love and keep going.

But 72% of dance injuries are overuse injuries, which means they are not inevitable. They are the predictable result of the activity we love outpacing the strength we are building (or neglecting to build) that’s needed to protect our tissues.

Swipe through for the evidence across every style of dance, from ballet to salsa to hip-hop, and what the research actually shows strength training does for injury rates and performance.

What the body is capable of is incredible. Let’s make it last! We work with life-long dancers and active adults of all ages on building strength and resilience in their body to do what they love for as long as possible.

That “healed” ankle? It might still be one wrong step away from rolling again. 🤨

After your first ankle sprain, you have up to a 70% chance of re-injuring it within a year — not because you’re unlucky, but because most people never get the rehab to actually ensure you are not susceptible.

Here’s what most people miss:
Your ligaments are packed with sensory nerve endings that tell your brain where your foot is in space. When you sprain your ankle, those sensors get damaged too. Pain goes away. The sensory-motor loop doesn’t automatically reset.
Full tissue remodeling takes 12 to 18 months — and ONLY happens with the right loading. Rest alone won’t get you there, nor will simply returning to run.

At RISE, we treat the whole picture: tissue integrity, neuromuscular control, movement patterns, fear of re-injury, sleep, nutrition, and progressive load training. We don’t just get you back to your sport. We make sure you stay there. 💪🏽

If you’ve sprained your ankle before and never done a full rehab, your body is likely still compensating in ways you can’t feel yet.
We’d love to help you change that change . 💙

Spring in Seattle means more daylight, more trails, and unfortunately, more running injuries.

Every year we see common patterns. People ramp back up too fast, ignore early warning signs, or keep doing the same things that took them off the trails last year hoping for a different result.

These 5 myths are some of the biggest reasons runners end up in my clinic instead of on the Burke-Gilman.
The good news 📰: most spring running injuries are completely preventable with the right information and a little proactive care.

If something has been bugging you, do not wait until you are have to stop running completely. Give us a call or come see us before your training ramps up.
Your strongest running season is possible. Let us help you get there.

When people say RISE changed their life, we don't take that lightly.
These three reviews share something in common: each person had already tried physical therapy elsewhere and wasn't getting better. And instead of giving up, they kept looking. They made the decision to keep investing in themselves until they found the right fit. That kind of commitment is everything.

Watching someone go from frustrated and stuck to heavy bench pressing pain-free, healing their nervous system, or finally feeling stronger in the right ways, this is exactly why we do what we do. We are so grateful to be trusted with that journey.

What they found here was a different level of care, one that goes beyond generic exercises to actually understand what's driving the problem. That's what physical therapy for active adults in Seattle should look like. Not a list of movements you could find on Google. Real diagnosis. Hands-on treatment. A plan built around YOU.

If pain has been holding you back, there is no better time to do something about it. Link in bio to book a free discovery call and take the first step toward feeling your best this season!
