Birchview and Badger Senior Services recently hosted a marketing event, Passport to Zambia. Mandalena, our marketing director shared with us about her home country. Guests were invited to shop our African market, see and listen to Victoria Falls and taste food and drinks traditional to Zambia. We also learned the African version of "Cheers!" and a traditional dodge ball game known simply as Game. A wonderful time was had by all! Birchview residents recently celebrated Earth Day and Arbor Day. The activities included a picnic lunch at Donovan Park, followed by a musical performance by Mary Whitton, and concluded with a tree-planting ceremony. A Japanese maple, donated by resident family member Virginia, and a birch tree were planted. We also started planting our vegetable garden! We are grateful to live in such a beautiful spot on this earth and privileged to play a small part in making it just a little more green!🌲🌎😀

Here are a few more of our amazing volunteers. Students from all our local elementary schools have come to sing, read with us, and more. Family members of past residents have spent week after week helping with everything from bingo, baking, and birthdays. Local community members have helped with science demonstrations and fiber arts classes. We are so grateful to all who make Birchview a better place. Sometimes life is like a musical. At Birchview, last week was full of fun, song inspired moments! From "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles", to "Tip Toeing Thru the Tulips", to "The Banana Boat Song" (we made banana splits), we could almost hear the music in the air.🎶 On Thursday night we even went "Under the Sea" to The Little Mermaid musical at Mcintyre Hall, starring our very own activity assistant, Carly, as Ursula the sea witch. Our hears are still singing! 🧜‍♀️🌷🍌
