π Advocating for our patients and protecting access to community pharmacy.
The Pharmacists Fight Back Act recently took an important step forward, advancing out of the House Oversight Committee with bipartisan support.
While PBM reform may sound like a βpharmacy issue,β it is ultimately a patient care and patient access issue. Patients deserve the freedom to choose the pharmacy they trust, affordable access to their medications, and continued access to pharmacists who know them and their healthcare needs.
We are especially proud to see two of our Alabama pharmacy friends, Anna Noojin of Boaz Discount Drugs and Ginger Barron of Cornerstone Family Pharmacy, pictured here at the House Oversight Committee markup advocating for independent pharmacies and the patients we serve. πΊπΈ
Anna and Ginger, we are so grateful for the incredible amount of time and energy you have dedicated to advocating for our profession. Your work helps give a voice not only to independent pharmacies across Alabama, but to the patients and communities who depend on them. π
There is still work to be done, but we are encouraged by this progress and will continue advocating for a healthcare system that protects patient choice, patient access, and community pharmacy.
