🎉Another way our team is growing to better serve YOU!🎉

We are so proud to celebrate Chyanne Coe and Amy Saranthus, two of our nationally certified pharmacy technicians, who have now also completed training to become Community Health Workers (CHWs)! 💚💙

So, what does that mean for our patients? Community Health Workers help bridge the gap between healthcare and the community. Amy and Chyanne's additional training equips them to help patients:

💚 Navigate healthcare needs and connect with community resources
💙 Better understand their medications and health conditions
💚 Access health education and preventive care
💙 Identify and overcome barriers that may make it harder to get the care they need
💚 Connect with local health services and programs

At Semmes Pharmacy, we believe taking care of our patients means looking beyond the prescription bottle. Sometimes better health starts with simply having someone who can listen, help navigate the system, and connect you with the right resources.

🎉💚 Help us wish AMY a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 💚🎉

Amy has been part of Semmes Pharmacy since day one! Today, she’s our Store Manager, but she wears more hats than we can count — including tech support, party planner, problem solver, and so much more! 😂

Most importantly, Amy has a heart for people. She loves our patients and our team and has a special way of truly listening and making everyone feel heard and cared for. 💚

When she’s not keeping us all together, Amy loves being a mom, traveling, Disney, and spending time at the beach! 🏖️🏰✈️

💚 Advocating for our patients and protecting access to community pharmacy.

The Pharmacists Fight Back Act recently took an important step forward, advancing out of the House Oversight Committee with bipartisan support.

While PBM reform may sound like a “pharmacy issue,” it is ultimately a patient care and patient access issue. Patients deserve the freedom to choose the pharmacy they trust, affordable access to their medications, and continued access to pharmacists who know them and their healthcare needs.

We are especially proud to see two of our Alabama pharmacy friends, Anna Noojin of Boaz Discount Drugs and Ginger Barron of Cornerstone Family Pharmacy, pictured here at the House Oversight Committee markup advocating for independent pharmacies and the patients we serve. 🇺🇸

Anna and Ginger, we are so grateful for the incredible amount of time and energy you have dedicated to advocating for our profession. Your work helps give a voice not only to independent pharmacies across Alabama, but to the patients and communities who depend on them. 💚

There is still work to be done, but we are encouraged by this progress and will continue advocating for a healthcare system that protects patient choice, patient access, and community pharmacy.
