Sometimes pressures in life bring us to a point where we need to escape...
This also is genetic as drinking can have a genetic component. Also if you have a parent, sibling or family member that drinks to cope while you are young, well that is learned behavior as well.
Once our plate is overflowing those with above components will tend to hit the bottle more so than others. The stress continues, people in your life, situations in your life, an abusive relationship that you feel trapped in.
Anything...can make you grab the bottle. Again, a reward system to alleviate the stress, anxiety, panic, feeling overwhelmed.
Please acknowledge these issues before you become physically dependent! Because once your body needs it? And your mind is saying NO! You can not function without it on a physical level at that point!
So you drink enough to alleviate the physical symptoms. Even if you "think" you have it under control for example: you work hard, you drink at night or just the weekends? It will eventually get to a physical dependency before you know it!
These people? although they hate to admit it? are called functional alcoholics and they are the MOST judgmental on actual alcoholics!
Why? Because they are seeing there future selves.
Be careful, acknowledge your triggers before it gets out of hand, seek help!
