All donations and sponsored welcomed as I role right into the next thing. This is to increase mental health awareness and education while decreasing stigma and isolation. The performers are sharing their artistry that can be used to positively cope with mental health symptoms. They’ll be comedy, a songstress, a rapper, poets, fitness (so don’t wear your church shoes lol), music, vendors, and of course line dancing. These are just some shifts and adjustments that can be made to the mindsets we’ve normalized in order to improve community standards, accountability, emotional health, and the way we treat one another.

Changing unhealthy cultural beliefs can feel isolating.

Sometimes the people around you become uncomfortable when you stop normalizing dysfunction. Growth can create distance before it creates connection.

But choosing healing, accountability, and emotional growth is still worth it.

Our beliefs are what guides our behavior and justifies our actions. If we want changed behavior we must first work on ch...

Our beliefs are what guides our behavior and justifies our actions. If we want changed behavior we must first work on changing the belief. Here’s are just some beliefs that are destroying our communities. What are some other ones?

On sight:
The belief - It’s ok to disrupt events and the lives of others to address conflict you have with a person when running into them publicly.

Issue - It can ruin any event, cause harm to innocent people, and cause panic in crowds of people.

Don’t Snitch:
The belief - Stay quiet and stay out of people’s business when it doesn’t concern you. Never cooperate with the police when witnessing crimes.

The issue - It allows crime to flourish in our communities and that impacts everyone including our children. We are one of a few communities where our children are traumatized by what they see, hear, and experience because we’re minding our business.

Tolerate No Disrespect:
The belief - I protect myself by any means when I’m not comfortable with how someone approaches and/ or corrects me. I don’t care who it is.

The issue - A clear definition of disrespect hasn’t been established and as a result discipline or criticism looks like disrespect. You get in trouble defending yourself when you feel “disrespect” and risk getting fired, kicked out of school, and incarcerated.

I don’t care:

The belief - I behave with a lack of concern of own feelings and the feelings of others which results in doing something or saying something to a person or yourself that the person regrets later because I actually do care. I’ve temporarily convinced myself that I don’t which is my defense mechanism.

The issue - Your human and you do care. You’re in defense mode to keep yourself from feeling hurt. You self-sabotage when you get like this.

Today is the start of Mental Health Awareness Month and the countdown for my event happening on 5/22/26 from 2-6pm at Friendly Inn. I just learned that its also Lupus Awareness Month and Small Business Month so as I was sharing my event with my classmates they shared theirs. There’s plenty more but here’s a few.

The next comedian who was actually the first to come on board to The Heal Out Loud Community and needs no introduction if you’re from Cleveland and haven’t been living under a rock.

Allow me to reintroduce Funny Man D. Hawk!! He provided me with words of encouragement that’s carried me for months when I wanted to quit so there’s no turning back now. That’s who he is - not just funny, but impactful.

When he’s not making people laugh, lifting spirits, and relieving stress with his gift, he’s advocating for mental health—because this is something that truly matters to him. Through his skits, he shines a light on everyday struggles that people go through way too often.

Whether he’s being funny or serious… whether it’s through the mic or through his pen as an author…

One thing for sure—did you get the message?!
