This is correct. I am proud daily that my expectant and birthing Mothers are willing to research, ask questions, make decisions, and then defend those decisions.

This. What the hospital providers are NOT willing to understand is that our families ARE making informed decisions, and those decisions make hospital staff squirm because they feel hyper responsible, for liability reasons and the authoritarian, outdated protocols they are required to follow. That's not our fault. We have protcols too, but they include autonomy. Where are their informed consent forms? My files are packed with them. But they never seem to need consent. Isn't that strange?
