Effective mid-afternoon on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, access to the Spooner Health Emergency Department will be via the new Emergency Entrance driveway off Chandler Drive.

🔹Emergency Department: All emergency department patients should enter via the new Emergency Entrance driveway off Chandler Drive.
🔹After-hours Visitors: Please use the new Emergency Department entrance from 5 pm to 7 am.

This provides access to the Emergency Department entrance only on the east side of the hospital. To help navigate to the correct entrance, there is a large red “EMERGENCY” sign indicating the entrance.

Note: The Emergency Entrance driveway does not provide access to the Main Hospital entrance or Essentia Clinic.

All services at Spooner Health will remain open during each construction phase. To learn more about the building project and improvements, visit SpoonerHealth.com/building.

Every year, the Volunteers of Spooner Health present scholarships to Spooner Area School District graduating seniors to support them as they work toward a degree in a healthcare field. This year, two non-traditional scholarships were also awarded.

This year's recipients of the $2,000 Volunteers of of Spooner Health scholarships are:

At Spooner Health, patient and community safety are always our top priorities. That’s why we regularly conduct safety drills to ensure our teams are ready to respond quickly, effectively, and safely in any situation.

On April 28th, 11 Spooner High School students and one counselor stepped in to serve as mock patients, helping us simulate a barn collapse incident. Their participation allowed our teams to practice critical response skills, including triage, patient care, incident command, and interdepartmental communication - all in a controlled environment designed to strengthen real-world readiness.

These drills help us refine processes, improve teamwork, and ensure we’re prepared to care for our community when it matters most.

👏 A big thank you to the students for their outstanding acting and enthusiasm, which made the scenario come to life! And thank you to Spooner High School for partnering with us to make this training possible. Together, we’re building a safer, stronger community.
