A yoga sangha is special--it is much more than a

gym! We follow these guidelines as we grow in all the limbs of practice:

The path to better health and inner radiance should be accessible to all. Our yoga community is dedicated to inclusion: people of all abilities, sizes, racial and gender identities are welcome here. The studio offers services and events at fair prices with free, sliding scale, and scholarship opportunities available. We recognize the earth beneath the studio has a long history and our practice includes honoring the indigenous peoples of the land and environmental stewardship for the future. The wisdom of Yoga and Ayurveda is a gift; one which has been both generously shared and culturally appropriated. Our teachers pledge to honor the lineage of gurus through recognizing the history and culture of South Asia.

September is National Yoga Awareness Month!

Yesterday I shared a bit more about me; this week I am going to share more information about the studio! Watch for posts about our classes, our teachers, and how we both respect and share the wisdom of Yoga in West Michigan.

The BEST way to get a taste of the studio is to come to a class! Please join us on the path to better health and inner radiance this month and celebrate Yoga!

Let's GO! a new academic year begins and lots of great things are happening on the path to better health and inner radiance!

First a bit of my backstory.

Yoga was never a "career path" for me; rather it opened up as a way to create deeper community connections and a more balanced lifestyle--one that integrated environment, family life, and personal health. Over the past 15 years I have been blessed to see that come into being through On The Path Yoga.

I'm so excited to see what THIS year brings. I hope you follow, join, and connect to our community through group yoga classes, workshops, immersion courses, women's circles, retreats, and other special events!

This weekend we welcome a NEW TEACHER to our team!! Kim Patrick is going to be teaching the 9am Gentle Yoga Classes on Saturdays, starting September 5th.

Here's a bit about Kim:
For more than 30 years, yoga has been a part of my life. In 2026, I decided it was time to stop saying “someday” and completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Sacred Moon School of Yoga.

When I began my training I wasn’t sure if teaching was part of my path. Along the way, I discovered how much I loved preparing a space for others, thoughtfully building a class, and watching the room settle as breath and movement came together.I believe that yoga is for everyone.

My classes are intentionally planned with a strong foundation, simple movement, and space to slow down. I value thoughtful cueing, moments of silence, and helping students move with intention—not only in each pose, but in the transitions between them. My hope is that students leave each practice felling cared for, a little more connected to themselves, and looking forward to returning to their mats.

Often we either neglect using Sanskrit in classes or don't bother teaching about it. I believe we SHOULD both teach and use the language of the source--just like trying to speak a bit of the native language when we travel, it is a matter of respect.

This is a nice guide for beginners--also, in Foundations of Hatha Yoga, Sandy will help you to understand both the meanings of the words, but deeper than that, the vibrational meanings of the sounds that the words contain.

This. THIS is why we offer weekly Prenatal Yoga classes.
Movement matters--but even more so, SPECIFIC movements help with comfort during pregnancy, efficient birth, and postpartum recovery. Specifically, yoga can help with mobility, mindfulness and breath practice--all which are integrated into how you are able to respond positively in labor.

Join Sandy on Thursday evenings at 5:30pm for her Gentle/Prenatal classes!! (tell her you saw this post and come as her guest for FREE!). She is a certified Body Ready Method Pro, prenatal yoga instructor, and trained doula.

>>Additional options with certified prenatal instructors are on Mondays at either 10:30am or 5:30pm.

Dr. Claudia Welch is both an Ayurvedic as well as a Classical Chinese Medicine physician. I have had the incredible privilege of learning from her in person.

When people experience extreme stress, they need nourishment, rest, and support. While the menopause transition is completely natural, the complete shift in hormonal balance can be stressful. Add to that the stress of modern life, the concern when symptoms of stress show up, and the mass information, marketing, and influencer presence in media, well, things get intense.

And while strength training might be helpful for aging, maybe boot camp is a bit much. While Vinyasa might help to burn off some of the stress, if there isn't a way to add more "fuel" the end result is burnout.

Want to try a really lovely balance?? Right now we are offering "Two for Tuesdays" with Foundations of Hatha at 5:30pm followed by Restorative Yoga at 7pm. Sandy does a bit of strength work in Foundations and Joyce will definitely nourish you mind, body, and soul in Restorative.

It's the perfect menopausal cocktail!!
