As a behavioral health science professional who works with many people in law enforcement and the military, of course I had to go see retired Secret Service agent and Army CID instructor Brad Beeler at his signing for ! He gifted me a CID challenge coin that is epic (peep the green 👀)! Neighborhood Reads was the friendly host, and I happily added to my indie bookstore passport and purchased a cat tote and bookmarks. I dropped books off and swapped for some new reads at their as well. What a fun and informative night this was!

Just a little graphic with education for those who say therapy costs too much… Literally half the work I do is unpaid. That doesn’t include the non-profit work I do pro-bono. That 2+ weeks I took off for surgery in April? Unpaid. My bills don’t stop coming in though. 💸 I love my work, don’t get me wrong. But also let’s not underestimate how much it costs to even get through grad school and licensing, let alone survive once you’re full-fledged. Literally the only reason I can afford to be a therapist and also have health insurance is because I’m married. What other career that requires a Master’s degree at minimum lives like that with people working multiple jobs to survive? What other professional job that requires similar schooling and licensure - such as an attorney who has passed the bar - gets judged for pricing $100+/hour and told they should do their job for free? 🤷🏻‍♀️
