Shervin Shares Shervin Shaikh put CoolMitt through its paces and landed exactly where the research does: muscle overheating is the real ceiling on your performance, not willpower, not conditioning.

Here’s the mechanism he breaks down. When you train, your core temperature climbs. Your body hits a natural circuit breaker and starts shutting down muscle output to protect itself. That’s the wall you feel. CoolMitt cools your core through the palms, one of the few places your body dumps heat fast, so the circuit breaker never trips and you keep working.

It’s DARPA-funded technology out of Stanford, now used across the MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, and the Tour de France.

Studies show 40 to 60% more work capacity versus non-cooling groups. Some users report breaking three-year plateaus in two months.

Feeling cool isn't the same as being cool.

Most "cooling" on a hot job site works on the skin — a fan, a wet towel, a cooling vest. It feels like relief, but skin temperature isn't what governs output or safety. Core body temperature is. And cooling the skin broadly can actually signal the body to close the vessels it uses to shed heat — trapping it in.

The cost is measurable: every 1.8°F (1°C) rise in core temperature can strip roughly 13% of a worker's physical work capacity.
So the target isn't the skin. It's the core. Palmar cooling lowers core temperature through the one surface built to release heat — the palm. Cool the core, not just the skin.

The 2026 World Cup is being played in heat that hits 82.4°F (28°C) — the line where player-safety experts say to pause the match. FIFA's answer is a 3-minute water break each half. But a water break cools the mouth, not the core — and core temperature is what decides whether a body keeps performing.

You can't air-condition an outdoor stadium in July. You can cool the body. Cooling the palms pulls heat straight from the blood and lowers core temperature ~2.2°F (1.2°C) in 30 minutes. The midfielder in the 75th minute and the lineman working in the same heat are the same physiology.

Heat is the opponent that never subs off. Cool is the advantage.

As he explains, the ceiling on your last set isn’t willpower, it’s temperature. Once your core hits a certain point, ATP stops firing the way it should and your muscles wave the white flag, even when your head says keep going.

Dr. Andrew Huberman broke down the Stanford research on this: cool the palms (one of three “glabrous skin” zones that dump heat faster than anywhere else on the body) and you can push 200 to 600% more reps at the same weight. Huberman saw a 60% jump in his own training. The original study took people from 100 pull-ups to 180.

That’s the whole idea behind CoolMitt. Three minutes, palm in the mitt, core temp drops, and the governor on your performance quietly lifts.
