🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 🎀
Starting October 1, you’ll notice something a little different at Chesapeake Rx… we’re going PINK! 💗
Throughout October, we’ll be using pink prescription vials as a reminder of the people in our community whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.
This month, we honor:
💗 Those currently fighting breast cancer
💗 Survivors who have walked this journey
💗 Those we have lost
💗 The families, friends and caregivers who have been there every step of the way
And we want to remind you to know your normal.
Breast cancer doesn’t always cause symptoms in the beginning, which is one reason routine screening is so important. Changes worth talking with your healthcare provider about can include:
• A new lump or thickening in the breast or underarm
• A change in breast size or shape
• Skin dimpling, puckering, redness or unusual changes
• A ni**le that turns inward or changes in appearance
• Ni**le discharge, particularly if it’s bloody or occurs without squeezing
• Persistent breast or ni**le pain or another change that is unusual for you
If you notice a new or unusual change, don’t ignore it—talk with your healthcare provider. And talk with your healthcare team about when breast cancer screening is appropriate for you based on your age, personal history and risk factors.
