By design, not by default.

When three of the five VAc sections are virtual-live, the obvious worry is that you'll end up one more name in a webinar grid — camera off, questions unanswered, learning alone.

That's not how this program runs.

VAc cohorts are intentionally small. Every section — virtual or face-to-face — operates as a working clinical group, not a lecture audience. You ask questions in real time and get answers in real time. Faculty know your name, your case load, and where your gaps are. By the time you reach the hands-on practicums in Sections II and V, you're working with people who already know how you think through a canine or equine case.

That student-to-faculty ratio is the whole point. It's what makes the difference between watching acupuncture taught and actually being trained to practice it.

Train with a cohort, not a crowd.

Just a little fun A.I. assisted photo recognition of the Healing Oasis VSMT “senior canine faculty”. These are the dogs that are at the school for nearly every day of each VSMT class, helping to teach the students (doctors).
Elder statesman, Jake Rivera is the lead dog, so he gets to drive the gang to class! Next is Tony Rivera, then Dunkin and Vito LoGiudice, and finally, making sure everyone is in order, Kevin Rivera. We thank these pups, and also the horses, for their patience as teachers.

What’s been going on this week at the Healing Oasis? It’s been so much fun; starting with the Spring 2026 VSMT class of doctors completing their formal training as Module V is wrapping up. We are proud of the dedication to improving their patients’ lives that these doctors implemented by coming to learn at the Healing Oasis.
In addition to the VSMT postgraduate program and a very positive intensive multi-day re-accreditation evaluation site visit by ACCET, a group of doctors also engaged in the Applied Kinesiology (AK) CE course taught by Daniel M. Halden, DC, MAc, LAc.
