The first day of school is right around the corner! 🍎📚✏️

We’re so excited to see our rising kindergarteners getting ready for this big milestone! Early Childhood Western Tidewater is helping local children stay engaged, keep learning, and build confidence as they prepare for their first day of school with these Kindergarten Transition Kits.

We’re proud to support initiatives like this that give our youngest learners the tools they need for a strong start. ❤️

✨ Throwback Thursday! ✨

Today we're looking back at our 2025 Patio Party, where we celebrated the incredible partnerships that are making a difference across our region.

From recognizing our Community Engagement and Capacity Building grant partners to celebrating the launch of Sentara's new 3D Mammography Van, it was an evening filled with collaboration, connection, and a shared commitment to improving the health and well-being of the communities we serve.

We're grateful for every partner who joined us then—and for the work you continue to do each and every day. Here's to building healthier communities, together.

Congratulations to our 2026 Healthcare Workforce Pathways Scholarship recipients! 🎉💙

In partnership with the Suffolk Foundation, we're proud to invest in the next generation of healthcare professionals through the Healthcare Workforce Pathways Scholarship.

Recently, our scholarship recipients had the opportunity to meet with the Obici Healthcare Foundation Board of Directors to share more about themselves, their educational journeys, and their goals for the future.

Please join us in congratulating this year's recipients and wishing them the very best as they begin the next chapter of their healthcare careers. We can't wait to see the impact they'll make!

There's nothing more exciting than seeing young people discover a passion for healthcare.

Nursing CAP. kicked off its inaugural Mini-Summer Healthcare Camp, giving students an incredible opportunity to learn from experienced healthcare professionals, participate in hands-on activities, explore a variety of healthcare careers, and see firsthand the many pathways available to them.

Thank you to Nursing CAP for inviting our Program Officer, Kelvin Turner II, to share the story of Mr. Amedeo Obici and the Foundation's mission to improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve. It was an honor to be part of such an impactful experience.

This week, we celebrated the 149th birthday of Mr. Amedeo Obici—an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and visionary whose generosity continues to shape the health and well-being of our communities.

After co-founding the Planters Peanut Company, Amedeo Obici believed that success should be shared by investing back into the communities that helped make it possible.

This year is especially meaningful as Obici Healthcare Foundation celebrates its 20th anniversary. For the past two decades, the Foundation has proudly carried forward Mr. Obici's vision by investing in organizations, partnerships, and initiatives that improve the health and wellness of the communities we serve.

As we reflect on Amedeo Obici's 149th birthday, we're reminded that one person's generosity can create a legacy that lasts for generations. We're honored to continue building on that legacy every day.

There's nothing better than seeing grant funding making a lasting impact in our communities.

We're proud to support projects like the improvements at Sedley Recreation Association, where new lighting is already helping extend opportunities for evening games and practices. Investments like these create healthier, safer spaces for children and families to stay active together.

Have a project that could make a difference in your community? Our Healthy Spaces Grant opportunity is currently accepting applications through July 15!
