This Grandparents Day, we’re sharing something for them: a guide to help older adults and their families feel more prepared for conversations about obesity, health, aging and care options. Writing down questions, health concerns and goals before an appointment can make it easier to speak up, stay focused and leave with information you can use, so print out the guide here: bit.ly/3UZh66c

“I was so hopeful” is what Cheryl felt when she first learned about the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program. But like too many patients trying to access obesity treatment, hope quickly turned into confusion as she navigated coverage rules, eligibility questions and limited support. No one should have to figure out a complicated healthcare system alone. Read Cheryl’s story to learn why clear information and support matter: obesityaction.org/too-many-patients-are-navigating-a-complicated-healthcare-system-alone/

Pepsi says it is making changes to keep healthcare sustainable and affordable for all employees. But employees living with obesity are part of all employees, and access to obesity treatment should not be taken away.

We need to keep the pressure on PepsiCo and make it clear that obesity care cannot be left behind. Join OAC in calling on PepsiCo to reverse this decision. Learn more and take action today: https://bit.ly/4qRvSry

Myth: Parents are entirely to blame for a child's weight.

Fact: Childhood obesity is a complex chronic disease shaped by genetics, biology, environment, access to care, mental health, sleep and many other factors. When we move past blame, families have more room to seek support, ask questions and explore care options that fit their needs. Learn more here: obesityaction.org/childhood-obesity

When obesity care is treated differently, that is weight bias in action. Pepsi is set to end GLP-1 coverage for obesity in October while continuing coverage for other conditions. Employees living with obesity should not lose access to treatment because of their diagnosis. Take action and tell PepsiCo to reverse this decision. https://bit.ly/3UurhQ9
