Lama Learners is back for its second summer! 🎉📚

At Lama Pediatric Therapy, we know that success in school involves more than just academic skills. That's why we created Lama Learners, our ABA-based school readiness program designed to help children build the independence and confidence needed to thrive in a classroom setting.

While maintaining individualized therapy goals, our learners participate in a classroom-like environment where they practice:
✨ Following group instruction
✨ Responding to teachers independently
✨ Social skills and peer interactions
✨ Academic readiness
✨ Self-help and daily living skills
✨ Classroom routines and expectations

We love the impact of 1:1 therapy, but we also recognize the importance of helping children generalize their skills beyond direct therapist support. Lama Learners provides opportunities to practice those essential school skills in a supportive, structured setting before the new school year begins.

Today’s Influential Executive Women Leadership Live program was such a powerful reminder that leading in a disruptive world is not about having all the answers, it’s about having the courage to ask the right questions.

Success in leadership requires curiosity, courage, and self-awareness. Curiosity to keep learning and growing. Courage to let go of what we cannot control and to say “no” to the things that no longer serve us. And self-awareness to truly understand ourselves, lean into our strengths, and recognize the value we bring to the table.

One message that really stuck with me: we are not meant to do everything alone. Great leaders build teams that fill the gaps, challenge perspectives, and help elevate the mission.

A good reminder to stop trying to be everything to everyone and instead focus on living and leading from our highest and best selves. Grateful for the inspiration, perspective, and the incredible women in the room today.

Happy April Work Anniversaries to Kennedy, Nicole, and Tanya!

Kennedy is celebrating 2 years with Lama and has had such an exciting year, passing her BCBA exam on the first try and truly shining as a new BCBA.

Nicole continues to do amazing things as an RBT and also became an SLPA this year while continuing her master’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Tanya passed her RBT exam this year and continues to grow in her journey with hopes of becoming a COTA.

We are so proud of each of you and grateful to have you as part of the Lama team!

Five years ago, I asked my clients, who I had been traveling to for two years, if they would come to me if I opened an office. I remember telling my husband I felt ready… but also completely terrified of overhead and the “what ifs.”
He convinced me to start with just a six-month lease, confident I’d outgrow it before I knew it and he was right.

From that small room, we grew into our own office suite… and eventually into owning our own building.

Growth is scary. It’s uncertain. But with a plan, patience, and a little courage, it can turn into something better than you imagined.
Things don’t have to happen fast to be successful.
