You are more than your diagnosis! You are not fibromyalgia, you are not lupus, you are not just someone with a bad back. Your pain and health struggles are part of your story, but they are not who you are!
You are a whole being with a body, mind, heart and soul.
What I love about John Barnes Myofascial Release is that we honor and respect each person and their inherent ability to heal. As therapists, we simply create an environment to encourage the healing process.
While we acknowledge symptoms and diagnoses, we treat the whole person and follow the body’s lead.
This approach is a big part of why myofascial release brings relief when other therapies have failed. There are no pre-planned protocols, your treatment will always be based on what your body is presenting in real time.
Body knows best and myofascial release is a beautiful and effective way to heal using your body’s wisdom.
Diagnosis Is a Label… But You Are So Much More. 💜
A diagnosis can help identify a condition, guide medical care, and provide a common language between healthcare providers.
But a diagnosis does not tell the whole story of you.
Two people can have the exact same diagnosis and experience completely different symptoms, compensations, pain patterns, emotions, and healing journeys.
In the John F. Barnes Approach to Myofascial Release, we don’t chase a diagnosis—we listen to the body.
Instead of asking, “What’s wrong with this shoulder?” or “How do we fix this knee?” we ask:
✨ What is the body protecting?
✨ Where did the compensation begin?
✨ What restrictions are preventing the body from functioning as a whole?
Pain is often the last place the problem shows up.
The source may be an old injury, surgery, emotional trauma, repetitive stress, or fascial restriction that has caused the entire body to compensate over time.
Every muscle, bone, organ, nerve, and vessel is connected through one continuous fascial system.
When we treat the whole person—not just the label—we honor the body’s innate wisdom and create the opportunity for lasting change.
You are not your diagnosis.
You are a whole human being with a story, a nervous system, emotions, experiences, and an incredible capacity to heal.
Healing begins when we stop treating labels… and start listening to the person.
