Welcome to the neighborhood!

Please help us welcome Dr. Monica Barnes to the practice!
Dr. Barnes is a fellowship-trained physiatrist specializing in interventional spine care, electrodiagnostic medicine and sports medicine.

After earning her B.S. in Neurosciences from the University of Michigan, she pursued medical training at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Michigan State University, followed by a two-year fellowship in Interventional Spine, Electromyography (EMG) and Sports Medicine. Her published work includes literature on peripheral nerve disorders and patient satisfaction related to fluoroscopically guided procedures.

Prior to moving to Traverse City, Dr. Barnes was a clinical faculty member at the University of Michigan, where she enjoyed providing care for patients with complex spine and musculoskeletal conditions.

Dr. Barnes is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Electrodiagnostic Medicine and Sports Medicine. She is passionate about delivering comprehensive and patient-centered care and looks forward to helping you achieve your goals.
