If your goal is fat loss, stop treating your body like something you need to punish.

Eating less and doing more cardio might move the scale, but sustainable results require a better approach. You need to preserve muscle, fuel your activity, train for progress, and understand what your body actually needs.

Muscle plays a major role in strength, metabolic health, and how well you function as you age. That’s why the goal shouldn’t be to weigh less at any cost. It should be to lose fat while protecting the muscle that keeps you strong.

Build muscle before you need it. Your future self will thank you.

What will your last 10 years look like? The answer depends on more than how many birthdays you’ve celebrated.

Biological age gives us a different way to think about aging. It looks at how your body is functioning at a cellular level, including the role of your mitochondria.

For Dr. Michele & me, longevity has always been about more than adding years to life. It’s about protecting your strength, vitality, and ability to keep doing the things you love as you age.

Comment BHW and we’ll send you the full Biohackers World Chicago keynote.

Your wearable can give you the numbers. But do you know what they actually mean?

Heart rate, sleep scores, recovery scores, HRV. People are tracking more health data than ever, but tracking a number and understanding your health are two very different things.

Technology can be a useful tool, but only when you know how to use the information it gives you.

This is exactly what we’re discussing on the Authentic Longevity Podcast.

Comment PODCAST and we’ll send you the link to the full episode.

After 24 years in law enforcement, including 10 years on a SWAT team, I learned that handling stress is only half the equation. Learning how to recover from it matters just as much.

Your body is designed to respond to pressure and then return to a calmer state. But when work, poor sleep, financial worries, and constant stimulation keep you switched on, recovery can become difficult.

You don’t have to eliminate stress from your life. You need to give your body the opportunity to come out of that state of activation, too.

Comment STRESS and I’ll send you a personalised resource on the power of deep breathing.

New Episode of the Authentic Longevity Podcast 🎙️

Health wearables can offer valuable insights into sleep, recovery, activity levels, and blood sugar. But how do you know when the data is helping you and when it’s creating unnecessary stress?

In the latest episode of the Authentic Longevity Podcast, Dr. Mark Sherwood and Dr. Michele Sherwood discuss the benefits and limitations of health wearables, including sleep trackers, heart rate variability (HRV), and continuous glucose monitors.

They explore how to use these tools to better understand your body without becoming consumed by the numbers.

Better sleep often comes down to a few habits we don’t want to hear about.

It’s not always about finding the perfect supplement or complicated bedtime routine. Sometimes it means eating a little earlier, putting your phone down, taking an evening walk, cutting back on late caffeine, and giving yourself a consistent time to wind down.

None of these habits are particularly exciting. But consistency matters far more than having a perfect routine for a few nights.

If your sleep has been off lately, start by looking at the habits around your bedtime, not just the hours you spend in bed.

Which one of these would be hardest for you to stick with?

Your period can change before you realize something else is changing, too.

As women move through different stages of life, their cycles can start to look different.

Sometimes those changes are temporary. Sometimes they are clues that it’s time to take a closer look at what’s happening with your hormones, stress, nutrition, sleep, or overall health.

The key is not to panic over one unusual cycle. It’s to notice patterns and understand what is normal for you.

If you’re noticing changes and wondering whether perimenopause could be part of the picture, I have a guide that can help.

Comment PERIMENOPAUSE and we’ll send it to you. 🤍
