LeadingAge Ohio LeadingAge Ohio is advancing solutions for exceptional care and successful living.

Founded in 1937, LeadingAge Ohio is a nonprofit organization that represents approximately 400 nonprofit long-term care organizations located in more than 150 Ohio towns and cities, as well as those providing ancillary health care and housing services. Member organizations serve more than 50,000 elderly Ohioans daily and employ more than 20,000 persons statewide. Not-for-profit providers of senior

services include senior housing, both subsidized and market rate, adult day care, home- and community-based services, assisted living and skilled nursing. A majority of members are faith-based and provide many or all of these services. LeadingAge Ohio is a member-driven organization, with leadership elected by peers from around the state. The leadership team is composed of the Board of Directors, including executive committee officers; regional directors, responsible for organizing in-district member meetings; and delegates, who represent AOPHA at our national organization. Strategic committees, action councils and special interest groups comprised of members from around the state help to develop and oversee governing policies and positions.

Today, LeadingAge Ohio welcomed providers, health plans, policymakers, and community leaders to OCLC in Dublin for the second annual Palliative Care Summit — the only conference in Ohio dedicated to palliative care. We were honored to feature keynote speaker Marian Grant, DNP, ACNP-BC, ACHPN, FPCN, FAAN, a nationally known policy consultant, Senior Regulatory Advisor at C-TAC, and practicing palliative care nurse practitioner at the University of Maryland Medical Center, as the day’s conversations focused on messaging, access, referrals, telehealth, statewide infrastructure, and Ohio’s next steps for palliative care. 🩵

Congratulations to National Church Residences on the grand opening of Hebron Station in Hebron this week. Joined by local leaders, including Hebron Mayor Dr. Valerie Mockus and representatives from the offices of U.S. Rep. Troy Balderson and U.S. Sen. Bernie Moreno, the celebration highlighted the importance of expanding affordable housing options for older adults in Licking County. The new 42-unit senior housing community brings much-needed housing options to Licking County for older adults seeking comfortable, independent living in a welcoming community. We’re grateful for the continued commitment to mission-driven housing and the work being done to expand affordable options for older Ohioans.

⭐ 329 STARS. 82 member organizations. Five ceremonies. One big reminder that excellent care depends on far more than the people with titles everyone knows.

In Tiffin yesterday, STARS season came to a close with nearly 200 guests gathered at Tiffin University. We were proud to honor the nurses, social workers, maintenance teams, dietary staff, IT professionals, housekeeping, groundskeeping, and other essential team members who keep mission-driven aging services running every day. Huge thanks to St. Francis Ministries for offering the invocation, welcome, and prayer. We’re already looking forward to recognizing a new group of STARS next spring. ⭐

Organizations that would like group photos of their STARS can email [email protected].
