When you’re the star of the show, and I’m the hype person in the background analyzing every movement pattern. 😂🎤

Patient: living their best life on stage

Me, their pelvic floor PT:
✔️ Noticing their posture
✔️ Watching their breathing strategy
✔️ Checking how they’re managing symptoms
✔️ Celebrating every win

One of my favorite parts of this job is helping women get back to the things they love without pain, leaking, pressure, or constantly worrying about their bodies.

Whether it’s performing on stage, running races, chasing kids, or crushing workouts, you deserve to feel confident doing what lights you up.

And trust me, when my patients win, I’m cheering just as hard as the crowd. 🙌

What activity would you love to do without pelvic floor symptoms holding you back?

If your body feels different lately, you’re not imagining it.

Many women are surprised to learn that perimenopause can begin years before menopause—and often before periods become irregular.

During this transition, changing hormone levels can affect more than just your cycle. They can impact your bladder, pelvic floor, vaginal tissues, bowel function, sleep, recovery, and overall sense of well-being.

You may notice:
• Increased urinary urgency or frequency
• Leaking with coughing, sneezing, or exercise
• Painful s*x or vaginal dryness
• Constipation
• Pelvic pressure or heaviness
• Changes in your workouts or recovery

These symptoms are common, but they aren’t something you simply have to accept.

Pelvic floor physical therapy can be an important part of supporting your body through perimenopause and beyond.

🚗 Posture Tip:

Ever notice you’re always leaning to one side when you sit in the car?

It might not seem like a big deal, but spending hours shifted to one side can affect how your rib cage moves, how you breathe, and even how your pelvic floor functions.

Your diaphragm, rib cage, abdominal muscles, and pelvic floor are all designed to work together as a team. When we’re consistently collapsed on one side, it can change pressure management, limit full breathing, and contribute to tension or weakness in the pelvic floor over time.

The goal isn’t perfect posture. It’s variety, awareness, and giving your body the ability to move and breathe well in different positions.

So next time you’re stopped at a red light, check in:
👉 Are you sitting evenly?
👉 Can your ribs expand as you take a deep breath?
👉 Are you gripping through your core or pelvic floor without realizing it?

Small changes can make a big difference.

Not sure if your posture, breathing, or pelvic floor symptoms are connected? We’d love to help. Send us a message or give us a call to learn more about pelvic floor physical therapy.

If you have EDS or are hypermobile, you’ve probably heard some version of: “That’s just part of being bendy.”

But pelvic floor symptoms aren’t something you have to simply accept.

Many people with hypermobility experience things like bladder leakage, pelvic pain, constipation, urgency, feelings of heaviness or pressure, and persistent hip, SI joint, or low back pain. Because connective tissue plays an important role in supporting the body, hypermobility can affect the pelvic floor in ways that are often overlooked.

And contrary to popular belief, the answer isn’t always “do more Kegels.”

Sometimes the pelvic floor needs more support. Sometimes it needs to learn how to relax. Most often, it needs a personalized approach.

Pelvic floor physical therapy can help you better understand your body, improve stability, manage symptoms, and get back to doing the things you love with more confidence.

Are you hypermobile or living with EDS? We’d love to know what symptom surprised you most when you learned it could be related to your pelvic floor.

POV: I’m just shredding chicken… but also thinking about how if men experienced even a fraction of the physical trauma that can happen during childbirth, pelvic rehab would be the standard—not the exception.
We’d have zero stigma.
Zero “just deal with it.”
Zero normalization of leaking, pain, or dysfunction.
And yet… here we are.
If you’ve been told it’s “normal” to:
• leak a little
• have pain with intimacy
• feel heaviness or pressure
• not feel like yourself in your body
…it might be common, but it’s not something you have to live with.
Pelvic floor PT exists for a reason—and you deserve that level of care, too.
Your body went through something major. Let’s treat it that way.

Most people are surprised when we treat the neck in pelvic floor PT… but it makes sense when you zoom out.

Your pelvic floor, core, diaphragm, and neck are all connected through one pressure + tension system.
If something is off at the pelvis, your body compensates—and the neck often takes the hit.

So yes, we treat the neck.
Because we’re also treating what’s driving the tension.

Using IMES dry needling, we help calm the nervous system and release those deeper connections—so you’re not just getting temporary relief, you’re getting real change.

Treat the neck 🤝 treat the root cause.

Headaches, tension, not going away?
It might be time to connect the dots.

✨ Book your evaluation at Her Health Therapy Center + start treating the source—not just the symptoms.

Such a fun morning at the Crush N Run 5K 🏃‍♀️✨

Our PT team showed up strong—hitting the course and hanging at our booth connecting with so many of you. We loved running with you, cheering you on, then diving into conversations about pelvic health and what’s actually “normal” (hint: leaking, pain, or pressure don’t have to be).

Being able to combine movement, community, and education is exactly why we do what we do 💛

Thanks to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and trusted us with your stories—we’re always here to support you on and off the course.

If running (or life) doesn’t feel quite right in your body, let’s change that 💪
