Somatic Healing: Softening the Survival Response and Returning to the Body

What if your body is not resisting your healing… what if it has been protecting you the only way it knew how?

June invites us into a deeper conversation about healing — one that moves beyond the mind and into the wisdom of the body.

So many people are walking through life tired, tense, overstimulated, anxious, guarded, or disconnected from themselves. And often, they blame themselves for it.

But what if your body is not failing you?
What if your body has been protecting you?

The survival response is the body’s way of keeping us safe during stress, overwhelm, grief, fear, or emotional pain. Sometimes that response looks like anxiety. Sometimes it looks like exhaustion. Sometimes it looks like shutting down, overthinking, people-pleasing, irritability, or feeling like you cannot fully relax.

Somatic healing invites us to stop fighting the body and begin listening to it.

Through breath, Reiki, mindful awareness, grounding, gentle movement, and nervous system support, we begin to teach the body something new:

It is safe to soften.
It is safe to feel.
It is safe to come home.

This month, we are exploring how healing begins when we stop asking, “What is wrong with me?” and begin asking, “What is my body trying to protect, express, or release?”
