Do you leak urine when you run, jump, lift weights, or exercise?

You're not alone.

Many women experience leakage during exercise, especially after pregnancy and childbirth.

But here's the important part:

You don't have to stop doing the activities you love.

Pelvic floor physical therapy can help you understand what's contributing to your symptoms and work toward improving strength, coordination, pressure management, and confidence with movement.

Your pelvic floor should support your life—not keep you from living it.

If you're avoiding exercise because of leakage, let's talk about it.

My back hurts. Should I rest?

It's a question I hear all the time.

While a short period of rest may be appropriate after certain injuries, staying in bed or avoiding movement for too long can actually make it harder to get back to your normal activities.

In many cases, gentle movement is helpful.

Walking, changing positions throughout the day, and gradually returning to your normal activities can be a great place to start.

The key is finding the right amount of movement for your body and your situation.

If back pain is keeping you from doing the things you enjoy, physical therapy can help you figure out what's going on and create a plan to get you moving again.

💙 You don't have to wait until your pain is unbearable to ask for help.

If you're coming to see me for physical therapy, there's something I want you to know:

You don't have to have all the answers.

You don't need to know exactly what's wrong.

You don't have to be "in shape."

And you don't have to feel embarrassed about asking questions.

That's my job.

We'll figure things out together, make a plan, and work toward your goals one step at a time.

My hope is that you leave Woven Health feeling like you understand your body a little better—and that you have a plan for moving forward.

You don't have to navigate it alone. 💙

Here's a pelvic floor question I hear often:

"I have been doing Kegels every day. Why aren't things getting better?"

The answer?

It depends.

Pelvic floor exercises aren't one-size-fits-all. Think of the pelvic floor like an elevator.

Some people may benefit from strengthening their pelvic floor muscles and getting to levels 1-3 of the elevator.

Others may need to work on relaxing those muscles, improving coordination, or learning how to use their pelvic floor during movement. These patients have pelvic floors that sit at level 1, 2, or 3, and we need to work on decreasing the tension to get back to our resting state.

The goal isn't simply to make the muscles stronger.

The goal is to help your pelvic floor work well for what you need it to do.

If you've been doing Kegels (or other exercises/machines) and aren't seeing improvement—or you're experiencing pain—this is your sign to reach out for individualized guidance.

🔥 Heat or ice? 🧊

It's one of the most common questions I get!

Here's a simple way to think about it:

🧊 Ice can be helpful for short-term pain relief and may feel good after an acute injury or activity.

🔥 Heat can feel good for muscle tension and stiffness and may help you feel more comfortable before movement.

But here's the most important thing:

Neither one is usually the whole solution.

If you're relying on heat or ice every day just to get through your normal activities, it may be worth figuring out why you're hurting in the first place.

That's where physical therapy can help.

Are you a heat person or an ice person?

I've been asked a few times where the name Woven Health came from.

The word "woven" represents the idea that our health isn't just one thing.

Our movement, strength, experiences, habits, stress, sleep, and overall wellness are all connected.

I wanted Woven Health to be a place where we look at the whole person—not just the body part that hurts.

Because you're more than a diagnosis.

You're a whole person, and your care should reflect that.

I'm so grateful you're here. 💙
