Be grateful and rest. This experienced mother came in with a strong and efficient labor followed by a pause requiring prayer and trust that her body knew best. Upon acceptance of this natural pause in labor, sure enough she was able to fully surrender and meet her sweet (and biggest!) baby in the calm waters of Sophia Suite under the stars. Welcomed into the world through the warm waters of Serenity, this sweet little soul, Authentic Baby #1521, transitioned gently into Dad’s waiting arms. Wrapped in the peaceful water and the protective prayers of grandma, Mom and Baby rested beautifully together. Our hearts are overflowing with the immense joy this little one—sibling to Baby #1340—brought earthside this morning. ✨💕

Whitney's story at Authentic began back in 2016, when she was a student midwife. 🫶

She stayed connected here at Authentic as administrative staff and clinical support before coming back to work at Authentic permanently last summer. 🩺

Like many of our midwives, Whitney delivered all three of her own children here at Authentic — two in the Sophia Suite and one in Serenity.

Outside of her role as a midwife, Whitney enjoys reading classic British literature and spending time outdoors with her husband and three sons, doing things like hiking and bike riding. 🚲

We're so grateful to have Whitney and her diverse experience on our team at Authentic!

woven_with_grace_doula is a certified birth doula and mother of five. She’s always felt drawn to working with women, and now gets to support women every day through her role as a doula. 🤍

While we don’t have any doulas on staff at Authentic Birth Center, we partner with local doulas and can recommend one if you’re interested in working with one during your pregnancy. 🤝

We’re so grateful to partner with doulas like LeNay to support moms throughout their entire pregnancy and birth experience! 🤰

This strong mother leaned into the knowledge earned from her powerful birth of baby #1274 in the very same room. The midwives encouraged her strength through a rapid transition as she brought her baby forth earthside. Rest sweetly under the stars! 💕✨

Meet Jo, our Administrative Assistant here at Authentic Birth Center! 👋

Jo has been a doula for about 20 years and is currently in school to get her Bachelor's in Social Work. She's incredibly passionate about birth, postpartum, and helping moms! 🤍

With seven kids, ages 9-23, Jo has been through birth and postpartum a few times around! We're so grateful for the breadth of experience Jo brings to our team. Make sure to say hi if you see her at the front desk!

This first time mama was an absolute strong, patient warrior fighting for this birth - never giving up through the twists and turns only a first labor can provide! The honor of holding this precious miracle made every moment worth it. A truly deserved rest will be had, sleep deeply under the stars, Sweet Family! 💕✨
