Those things matter.

But ultimately, health is about having the energy to enjoy your life.

To laugh.

To travel.

To spend time with people you love.

To watch a sunset.

To take a walk by the ocean.

To feel present in your own life.

This week was World Thyroid Day.🌸

After spending much of the week talking about thyroid health, metabolism, hormones, and why so many women are still searching for answers, I found myself reflecting on something important.

Health is not the goal.

Health is what allows us to fully experience life.

The conversations.
The laughter.
The walks on the beach.
The sunsets.
The moments with the people we love.

That’s why I do what I do.

Not because I want women to become focused on symptoms, lab numbers, or diagnoses.

But because I want them to have the energy, clarity, resilience, and vitality to fully participate in their lives.

The body knows how to heal when the systems are restored.

So why isn’t your body responding?

This is where many women begin to believe:
something is wrong with them.

But the body does not respond based on effort alone.

It responds based on its state.

And that state is influenced by things most women were never taught to evaluate together:

• nervous system regulation
• inflammation
• nutrient availability
• hormonal communication
• metabolic signaling
• sleep and recovery

This is why symptoms can persist even when you are:
eating better,
trying harder,
taking supplements,
or doing “all the right things.”

Because the question is not simply:

“How much effort are you putting in?”

The question becomes:

🌸 Is the system receiving the conditions required to respond?

Your body is not working against you.

It is responding to the state it is in.

And when the systems are supported together,
the body often begins to respond very differently.

Many women are told their labs are “normal”…

…while struggling with exhaustion, brain fog, weight changes, poor sleep, mood shifts, and feeling disconnected from their bodies.

And often made to believe this is simply what aging feels like.

Especially during perimenopause and menopause, thyroid physiology becomes deeply connected to:
• metabolism
• energy
• hormones
• body composition
• temperature regulation
• mood
• sleep
• and overall resilience

Your body is not failing you.

Sometimes it is communicating.

This World Thyroid Day, I want women to know:
you are not lazy,
you are not imagining it,
and you are not simply “getting older.”

A long weekend.
Ocean air.
Sunshine.
Time to breathe.

As women get older, I think many of us realize something important:

Health is not just about numbers on a lab report.

It is about having the energy to enjoy your life.
To travel.
To laugh.
To move your body.
To feel confident in your skin.
To create memories.
To feel fully present.

That is one of the reasons I care so deeply about the work I do.

They’ve improved their habits.
They understand their body better than ever.

And yet…

Symptoms remain.

Fatigue.
Weight changes.
Brain fog.

And the question becomes:

“If I understand what’s happening…
why don’t I feel different?”

Because understanding explains the problem.

🌸 It does not correct it.

The body does not respond to information.

It responds to conditions.

And those conditions are not created by addressing one system at a time,

but by supporting the system as a whole.

Most women are told to “manage the number.”

But what if the number is not the real problem?

So many women are exhausted, inflamed, struggling with weight changes, brain fog, poor sleep, declining bone health, or feeling disconnected from their bodies… while being told their labs are “fine.”

That is why I believe it is so important to stop looking at the body in isolated parts and begin looking at the system as a whole.

Because medication may change a lab value…
but it does not always restore function.
