Remembering my grandfathers today.

One served with the 1st Marine Division during the Battle of Okinawa in 1945, then spent several months in China after the war. My other grandfather served as an Army medic.

These photos remind me that history is never just history. It is people, families, service, and sacrifice.

Grateful for their lives and their service, and especially mindful today of those who never made it home.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there.

Being a mom is one of the greatest gifts of my life, and today I’m especially grateful for my own family and for the many incredible mothers I get to know and care for in Wichita.

JUST IN: The Wichita City Council has unanimously approved the city's first Safe Haven Baby Box.

This will be the fourth Safe Haven Baby Box in Kansas. The others are in Hutchinson, Salina and Garden City.

Happy Nurses Appreciation Week!

I’m incredibly thankful for all of the wonderful nurses I’ve had the privilege of working with over the past 20 years here in Wichita. Their compassion, patience, humor, and heart have made such a difference for our patients, our families, and me personally.
