You Don’t Need to Control Everything to Feel Safe

Sometimes what looks like control is actually fear wearing armor.

We plan every detail.

Rehearse conversations before they happen.

Try to anticipate how other people will respond.

Imagine every possible outcome so we’re prepared for what might go wrong.

And somewhere along the way, we convince ourselves:

If I can control what happens, I can protect myself from being hurt.

But control and safety are not the same thing.

Because no matter how carefully we plan, life will still surprise us.

People will make choices we didn’t expect.

Plans will change.

Doors will close.

New ones will open.

And sometimes the path ahead simply won’t reveal itself until we begin walking it.

🌿 THE NEED FOR CONTROL OFTEN SOUNDS LIKE:

“I need to know what’s going to happen.”

“I need them to understand me.”

“I can’t relax until this is resolved.”

“What if I make the wrong choice?”

But beneath those thoughts may be a quieter question:

“Will I be okay if things don’t go the way I hoped?”

And that’s where healing begins.

Not by convincing yourself that everything will go according to plan.

But by remembering:

You can trust yourself even when you cannot trust the outcome.

✨ You can handle disappointment.

✨ You can change direction.

✨ You can set boundaries.

✨ You can begin again.

✨ You can survive uncertainty without solving it.

🌙 A HEALING MIND PRACTICE

Think of something you’re trying very hard to control right now.

Draw two circles on a piece of paper.

Inside the first, write:

WHAT I CAN CONTROL

My choices.
My boundaries.
My response.
My effort.
How I speak to myself.

Inside the second:

WHAT I CANNOT CONTROL

Other people’s choices.
Their opinions.
The past.
Perfect timing.
Every possible outcome.

Then ask yourself:

What am I carrying today that was never mine to control?

Maybe peace isn’t found in finally getting everything under control.

Maybe peace comes when you realize…

you don’t need everything to go according to plan to know you’ll be okay.💜

The Pineal Gland. Science recognizes it as part of the body’s biological clock. Spiritual traditions call it:

The Third Eye.

🔬 THE SCIENCE

The pineal gland’s best-known role is producing melatonin, the hormone that helps regulate sleep and wakefulness.

As darkness falls, melatonin typically rises, signaling that night has arrived. Light—especially through the eyes—helps control this process.

This tiny gland is connected to one of nature’s oldest rhythms:

light and darkness.

The pineal gland can also develop calcium deposits with age, making it unusually visible on medical scans. This has fueled claims that “pineal calcification” blocks intuition or spiritual awareness.

Calcification is real, but science has not shown that “decalcifying” the gland awakens psychic abilities or higher consciousness.

✨ THE SPIRITUAL CONNECTION

Long before melatonin and circadian rhythms were understood, humans imagined an inner source of perception.

In yogic traditions, the Ajna chakra, located between the eyebrows, became associated with intuition, insight and perception beyond the ordinary senses.

Western esoteric traditions later linked these ideas to the pineal gland. Philosopher René Descartes even called it the principal seat of the soul.

Today, it is widely associated with the Third Eye.

🌌 WHERE SCIENCE & SPIRIT MEET

Science says the pineal gland helps the body respond to cycles of light and darkness.

Spirit uses the Third Eye as a symbol for perceiving what lies beyond the immediately visible.

One regulates physical darkness.

The other represents seeing through metaphorical darkness.

Coincidence? Symbolism? Or simply another example of humans using the body to explore mysteries science has not fully answered?

Maybe “opening your Third Eye” doesn’t mean unlocking a supernatural organ.

Perhaps it begins more simply:

Becoming quiet enough to notice.

Questioning what you’ve been taught.

Listening to intuition while staying grounded in discernment.

Because seeing and perceiving are not always the same.

Science asks:

What does the pineal gland do?

Spirit asks:

What are we capable of perceiving?

Somewhere between the two…

the mystery remains.

🌿 THE HEALING GARDEN
Hawthorn Berry — The Guardian of the Heart

For centuries, the hawthorn tree has stood at the intersection of herbal medicine, folklore, and magic.

HERBAL TRADITION

Hawthorn berries, leaves, and flowers have a long history in European herbalism, particularly as cardiovascular tonics.

Modern research has also investigated hawthorn preparations for their potential effects on cardiovascular function. The plant contains naturally occurring compounds including flavonoids and other polyphenols.

Traditionally, hawthorn has been prepared as teas, tinctures, syrups, preserves, and herbal tonics.

Because hawthorn may affect the cardiovascular system and interact with certain medications, medicinal use should be discussed with a qualified healthcare professional—especially if you take heart or blood-pressure medication.

IN THE GARDEN

Hawthorn grows as a flowering tree or shrub. Its spring blossoms support pollinators, while its berries provide food for wildlife.

FOLKLORE & MAGIC

In European and Celtic folklore, hawthorn has been associated with:

✨ Protection
✨ Love & marriage
✨ Fertility
✨ The fairy realm
✨ Sacred thresholds
✨ Heart healing

In Irish folklore, certain lone hawthorns were regarded with great reverence, and disturbing those associated with the fairy realm was considered unlucky.

THE SPIRITUAL LESSON

There is something beautifully symbolic about a plant associated with the heart growing behind a defense of thorns.

Hawthorn doesn’t tell us to close the heart.

It teaches us to protect what is sacred without preventing it from blooming.

You can love deeply and still have boundaries.

You can remain compassionate without giving everyone access to you.

You can forgive someone and still decide they no longer belong in your life.

You can protect your heart without building a wall around it.

A guarded heart and a closed heart are not the same thing.

One protects love.

The other prevents it.

🌿 THE HEALING HOME
The Threshold Reset

Every day, we cross the same invisible line.

On one side is the outside world.

Work. Errands. Traffic. Noise. Other people’s energy. Everything we’ve carried through the day.

And on the other side?

Home.

Our front door is more than an entrance. It’s the threshold between the world we move through and the space where we’re meant to exhale.

So every once in a while, I like to give that threshold a little attention.

✨ BEGIN WITH THE PHYSICAL

Open the door and shake out the doormat.

Sweep the porch, steps, or entryway.

Wipe down the door and handle.

Clear away shoes, bags, mail, or anything that has accumulated near the entrance.

If you have a porch light, clean the glass.

Then step back and notice how different the entrance already feels.

🌿 ADD SOMETHING LIVING

A potted herb, fern, seasonal flowers, or even a small vase of greenery just inside the door can soften the transition into your home.

Rosemary is especially lovely here and has traditionally been associated with remembrance, purification, and protection.

✨ NOW CLEAR THE ENERGY

Open the door for a few minutes.

Let fresh air move through the entryway.

You might ring a bell, gently clap your hands, play music, or simply stand quietly at the doorway.

No elaborate ritual required.

Just intention.

As you close the door, imagine leaving behind everything that doesn’t need to follow you inside.

And remind yourself:

What belongs outside can remain outside.

May everyone who crosses this threshold enter in peace.

May this home be protected, welcoming, and filled with love.

🏡 CREATE A RETURN-HOME RITUAL

The next time you come home, try something different.

Before immediately checking your phone, starting dinner, or tackling the next task…

Put down your things.

Take off your shoes.

Take one slow breath.

And consciously arrive.

Because sometimes creating a healing home isn’t about changing the house at all.

It’s about changing the way we enter it.

A little clearing.
A little intention.
A little everyday magic.

✨ SEPTEMBER ENERGY UPDATE ✨
Integration • Realignment • Courageous New Beginnings

September follows a powerful eclipse season. August may have revealed a truth, ending, awakening, or new direction. Now we’re being asked to live differently because of what we know.

🔥 SEPT 1 — MARS SQUARE SATURN

Mars wants movement; Saturn applies the brakes. Delays and resistance may show us where greater patience, discipline, or structure is needed. A temporary obstacle isn’t necessarily a permanent “no.”

⚡ SEPT 10 — MAJOR ENERGY SHIFT

Venus enters Scorpio, drawing relationships toward deeper intimacy, truth, and emotional authenticity.

Mercury enters Libra, encouraging diplomacy, balance, and new perspectives.

Uranus stations retrograde in Gemini, turning the revolution inward. Beliefs, thought patterns, communication, and our relationship with information may be ready for an upgrade.

🌑 SEPT 10 — NEW MOON IN VIRGO

Simplify. Organize. Reset your routines. Care for your body. Virgo reminds us that transformation isn’t always dramatic—small changes can create enormous shifts.

🌊 SEPT 15 — NEPTUNE SEXTILE PLUTO

A longer collective story continues around spirituality, power, technology, transformation, and humanity’s evolving future.

Something new is being imagined while something old dissolves.

⚖️ SEPT 22 — LIBRA SEASON + EQUINOX

The Sun enters Libra at the Equinox, inviting us to examine balance.

Where has your life fallen out of alignment?

🌕 SEPT 26 — FULL MOON IN ARIES

This Moon brings the focus back to YOU.

Where have you compromised yourself to keep the peace? Aries reminds us that healthy relationships don’t require self-abandonment.

🔥 SEPT 27 — MARS ENTERS LEO

Confidence, passion, creativity, and courage return. After weeks of processing, we may finally feel ready to act on what we’ve discovered.

✨ SEPTEMBER’S MESSAGE

August awakened us.
September asks us to integrate what we learned.

You don’t have to rebuild your life overnight.

Change the habit.
Have the conversation.
Create the boundary.
Take the first step.

The new chapter may already be here.

Now choose to walk into it.

🤍 THE HEALING SPIRIT
Is It Intuition… or Is It Fear?

You get a feeling.

Something inside you says:

Don’t do this.
Call that person.
Wait.
Go.
Something isn’t right.

But then the mind enters the conversation.

What if I’m imagining it?

What if I’m just anxious?

What if I’m afraid?

Learning to trust your intuition isn’t always about becoming more intuitive.

Sometimes it’s about learning the difference between the voice of your spirit and the voice of fear.

✨ FEAR IS OFTEN LOUD.

Fear tends to spiral.

It creates stories, possibilities and worst-case scenarios.

What if this happens?
What if I regret it?
What if everything goes wrong?

Fear wants an answer right now.

✨ INTUITION IS OFTEN QUIET.

Intuition usually arrives simply.

A knowing.

A feeling.

A sentence that seems to appear from nowhere.

It doesn’t always explain itself.

It simply says:

This isn’t for you.

Or…

Go this way.

And then it becomes quiet again.

The difficulty is that intuition can sometimes tell us something we don’t want to hear.

So we keep asking.

We pull another card.

Look for another sign.

Ask another person.

Search for confirmation.

But somewhere underneath all that searching…

we already know.

🤍 THIS WEEK’S HEALING SPIRIT PRACTICE

When you’re faced with a decision, sit quietly before asking anyone else what they think.

Place your hand over your heart.

Take several slow breaths.

Then ask yourself:

“What did I know before I started overthinking it?”

Notice what comes first.

Not the story that follows.

Not the explanation.

Not the fear.

The first quiet knowing.

Learning to trust yourself is a spiritual practice, too.

Because perhaps intuition isn’t always the Universe speaking to you.

Perhaps sometimes…

it’s the Universe speaking through you. ✨

🪻 THE HEALING MIND

You Are Allowed to Outgrow People, Places, and Versions of Yourself

Growth is beautiful.

It’s also uncomfortable.

Because growth doesn’t just ask us to learn something new.

It asks us to release something old.

Sometimes it’s a belief.

Sometimes it’s a relationship.

Sometimes it’s a version of ourselves that once felt safe.

And that’s where many of us get stuck.

We hold on because it’s familiar.

We stay because we’ve invested time.

We keep carrying things we’ve already outgrown because we’re afraid of what will happen if we finally let them go.

But healing often looks like release.

🌿 Maybe you’ve outgrown the need to please everyone.

🌿 Maybe you’ve outgrown the belief that your worth is measured by productivity.

🌿 Maybe you’ve outgrown relationships that require you to shrink yourself.

🌿 Maybe you’ve simply outgrown the person you had to become to survive.

And that’s okay.

You are not meant to remain the same person forever.

The version of you that carried you through one season may not be the version that carries you into the next.

Growth isn’t a betrayal of who you were.

It’s an honoring of who you’re becoming.

🌙 A Healing Mind Practice

Ask yourself these three questions:

• What no longer feels aligned?

• What am I holding onto out of habit rather than intention?

• What would I make room for if I finally let this go?

Healing doesn’t always happen when we add something new.

Sometimes, healing begins when we create space.

And space requires release.💜
