Not only do I have photographic evidence of a surgeon doing this locally (I’ll post the photo in the comments if I remember to look for it 🥴), but I have personally been the boots in the OR due to an unexpected homebirth transfer 😅 So, note to other birthworkers: always have a change of shoes ready jusssttt in case 😂

It takes a village to raise a child,
Or so the wise ones say.
And though we connect online worldwide,
We still feel so isolated today.

More isolated, more “in our heads”
As we struggle on alone,
Losing our sleep and doubting ourselves
As fear pierces to the bone.

Children need a village,
Good parents, relations, and friends.
If only the village could have stepped in
There might have been a happier end.

Let us try to gather the village
Let us notice who struggles and labors
Let us give a kind hand from land to land
Believing that we are all neighbors.
