Today we say farewell to Kira as she finishes up with us at Monaro Medical Practice.

🌸 Medical Trivia Thursday – Spring Health Edition! 🌸

Spring has arrived, and while the warmer weather and longer days are very welcome, it also means hay fever season for many people! 🤧🌿

Did you know?

🌼 Spring brings increased pollen from grasses, trees and other plants, which can trigger hay fever symptoms in susceptible people.

🤧 Hay fever doesn’t actually cause a fever! Despite its name, common symptoms include sneezing, a runny or blocked nose, and itchy or watery eyes.

🌿 Hay fever is an allergic reaction. Also known as allergic rhinitis, it occurs when your immune system reacts to allergens such as pollen, dust mites, mould or animal dander.

💨 Pollen levels can vary. Weather, wind and the time of day can all affect how much pollen is in the air and how noticeable your symptoms may be.

💊 You don’t have to put up with it. There are a range of ways to manage hay fever.

🦴 MEDICAL TRIVIA THURSDAY – BONE HEALTH EDITION 🦴

Did you know that osteoporosis is often called the “silent disease” because there may be no signs or symptoms until a fracture occurs?

This week, we are putting the spotlight on bone health ahead of a special visit to Monaro Medical Practice! 💙

🚌 The Bone Bus by MeasureUp is coming to Monaro Medical Practice from Monday 31st August to Friday 4th September 2026.

The Bone Bus provides mobile DEXA bone density scans, which can help identify low bone density and osteoporosis.

You may be eligible for Medicare-supported bone density testing if you are 70 years or older, or at a younger age if you have certain medical conditions or risk factors.

👩‍⚕️ A GP referral is required.

A little personal news from our Practice Manager, Stefanie. 💙

We know many of our patients have come to know Stefanie over the years, so we wanted to share this very special news with our Monaro Medical Practice community. 🥰🦊💙

Congratulations Stefanie and Simon! 💙

It has been a little quiet here at Riverbend lately, but there has been a very special reason. 🤎

There has been a lot happening behind the scenes and we have been keeping our biggest news to ourselves while we have been soaking it all in.

We are having a baby. 🥹🦊💙

When it came time to take a photo to share our news, this felt like the perfect place. Alpine Hotel This is the same place where we got married and celebrated the beginning of our life together and now we are standing here again getting ready to begin an entirely new chapter.

Our little boy, Xavier Fox, is due in December 2026. 🦊💙

Riverbend has always been about our life together, our animals, our adventures and everything we have been working towards and building along the way. Now, there is going to be one very special little person joining us for all of it.

There is so much happening at Riverbend at the moment and we cannot wait to start sharing more of it with you again.

But this is definitely the most exciting thing we have been growing. 🥹🤎🦊
