When lifting leads to pain, it’s often not just about the weight itself, but how the spine is moving and handling that load. The spine is designed to provide both stability and flexibility for the body.
The lower back is built more for stability than constant bending. When movement in the lumbar spine becomes restricted, the muscles on one or both sides can start compensating. Over time, this may lead to rounding through the spine or increased pressure on the discs and nerves.
If left long enough, these changes can eventually contribute to scoliosis or injury.
The goal of Chiropractic care is to help restore normal movement to the spine so the muscles can get back to doing the job they were designed to do.
Lifting is part of life. If your back hurts every time you do it, it’s worth looking at what your spine is actually doing beneath the surface.
