GET TO KNOW AYSHA

Aysha has been part of the EMpower Pathways team for 15 months, bringing plenty of laughs, personality and genuine connection along the way.

Funny, bubbly, relatable and wonderfully quirky, Aysha has a natural ability to make people feel comfortable, understood and accepted for exactly who they are.

Aysha brings experience across a wide range of disability supports and has completed training and qualifications including:

• Certificate III in Disability
• Mental Health First Aid
• First Aid & CPR
• Medication Administration
• Manual Handling
• Through Their Eyes training
- whats the buzz trained

At the heart of Aysha’s approach is trauma-informed support. She understands that behaviour, communication and individual needs often have a much bigger story behind them, and approaches the people she supports with empathy, patience, respect and without judgement.

Aysha brings the fun when it’s needed, the calm when things are hard, and most importantly she keeps support real, individual and human. 💜

We’re very lucky to have Aysha as part of our EMpower Pathways team.

Availability Requirements
- Must be available for a rotating roster
- Includes days, nights, weekends & overnight shifts

What We’re Looking For
-Compassionate, patient, and reliable individuals
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Relevant qualifications (or willingness to obtain)
- Current driver’s licence

Meet Amelia

Amelia has stepped into the role of Support Coordinator at EMpower Pathways, bringing with her a diverse background and a genuine understanding of the people she supports.

Having worn many hats throughout her career, from retail and working as an SSO, to becoming a Support Worker and moving into administration at EMpower Pathways — Amelia brings something incredibly valuable to Support Coordination: real, hands-on experience.

Coming from a Support Worker background means Amelia has worked alongside participants and families through both the triumphs and the challenges. She has seen firsthand how complex and overwhelming the NDIS can sometimes feel, not only for participants, but for the families and carers trying to advocate alongside them.

Those experiences have shaped Amelia's growing passion for advocacy, research, legislation and continuous learning. She understands that good Support Coordination isn't simply about connecting someone with services, it's about listening, researching options, understanding a person's plan and goals, building their capacity to make informed choices, and helping them feel confident in the direction of their supports.

Amelia brings a warm, down-to-earth and empathetic approach to coordination, backed by practical experience and a genuine drive to keep learning.

And the exciting part? Amelia currently has capacity to welcome new Support Coordination participants. 🌿

*Please note: EMpower Pathways offers Support Coordination in addition to our direct Support Work services. To support appropriate conflict-of-interest management, transparency, choice and control, our Support Coordinator operates separately from direct support service delivery.
Participants are supported to choose providers that best meet their individual needs,
Support Coordination can only be provided where Support Coordination funding is included in your NDIS plan. Currently, we can offer this service to self-managed and plan-managed participants.

WE’RE FINALISTS!
We are incredibly proud to share that EMpower Pathways has been named a finalist in the 2026 Business Port Pirie Awards!

For us, EMpower Pathways has never been just a business. It was built from lived experience, passion, advocacy and a genuine desire to create better pathways for people with disability in our community.

From a small idea and a whole lot of determination and heart...., to the incredible team and community we have around us today.

Whatever happens on awards night, being recognised alongside so many wonderful local businesses after a short, couple of years in business is an achievement we are proud of.

Meet Demi 💙

Dempsey is 7. She is autistic, has a PDA profile and ADHD, and she is an incredible little bundle of loud, funny, unpredictable, constantly-moving energy.

Tonight I took my three beautiful girls to the opening night of High School Musical and what an incredible show. Seriously, well done to everyone involved.

But tonight also made me think about something.

At one point, Demi ran through the crowd.
I ran after her, FAST.

I caught her and held onto her tightly because, in that moment, I needed to keep her safe.
And as I was holding her, I had this sudden thought:

What if people don't know she's my daughter?

What if someone sees me holding a distressed disabled child and assumes I'm her support worker using an excessive or restrictive practice?

So maybe this is me showing up and giving a little glimpse into OUR world.

Because I want Demi to have the same opportunities and experiences as every other little girl.
And tonight wasn't easy. Not in the slightest.
She moved almost nonstop. There was echolalia. Everyone would cheer, the room would become completely quiet... and then Demi would cheer. 😂

She clapped when nobody else was clapping.

And my personal favourite was her announcing during the performance:

"This is SO dramatic."

That's our Demi.

But crowds are hard, Waiting is hard.
Transitions from one activity to another are hard.
Leaving somewhere she wants to stay is really hard.....Even lining up for popcorn was hard, and our beautiful friend Jenna copped a few slaps in the process.

These are the parts of disability and inclusion people don't always see.

I am incredibly thankful for our friends and our support workers, because taking my three girls out together can sometimes be unsafe, overwhelming and simply impossible for me to manage alone. Having people beside us means my girls don't have to miss out because their needs are different.

I want her to experience the world

So if you ever see me out with this beautiful, loud, absconding ball of energy and I'm chasing her through a crowd or holding onto her for dear life...

Just know she's mine... I'm her mum.
Im not trying to control her.
I'm trying to give her the opportunity to be there while keeping her safe enough to experience it.

And tonight, she experienced High School Musical.

In true Demi style.
