We recently supported one of our clients to get back out into their community, doing something they'd stopped doing after their diagnosis. Seeing that spark come back is exactly why we do this work.

We support participants living with complex neurological conditions - including MS, dementia, MND and Parkinson's - across the Sunshine Coast, and we need someone who brings both the experience and the heart for high physical care.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
🤝 Experience with high physical care, transfers & manual handling
✅ NDIS Worker Screening Check + current First Aid & CPR
🚗 Driver's licence, reliable vehicle & comprehensive insurance
🕐 Genuine flexibility across a 7-day rotating roster, including early starts and active night shifts

"Heart in Hand started with a simple question: if this was my mum, what would I want for her?

Hi, my name is May, and if you don't already know me, I'm the founder of Heart in Hand.

Before I started my business, I worked alongside a physiotherapist, helping people living with injury and disability rebuild strength and independence. Later, as a support worker, I found myself asking that question again and again — and I knew I wanted to build something more personal.

Today, that same question still guides everything we do. We treat every person we support like family, because that's exactly how I'd want my own family to be treated.

Today I had the opportunity to attend the 2026 Neurological Summit at Parliament House, hosted by Neurological Alliance Australia.

The summit brought together people with lived experience, families, carers, clinicians, researchers, parliamentarians and sector leaders to discuss practical ways to improve neurological care, research and outcomes for Australians living with neurological conditions.

It was great to connect with others across the sector, hear different perspectives and be part of these important conversations.

And a first for me….my first visit to Canberra! 🇦🇺

What an absolute privilege. 💕

Volunteering at Brissie to the Bay 2026 was one of those experiences that reminds you why community matters so deeply. Over 4,000 riders taking on the road together, not just for the challenge, but for something so much bigger.

This iconic event raised over $800,000 for MS and other neurological conditions — funds that go directly toward research, support services, and real change in the lives of people living with these conditions every single day.

For us, this impact is deeply personal, as we walk alongside many incredible clients who are living with these conditions and navigating their journeys with strength and resilience.

Watching thousands of riders cross that finish line, surrounded by volunteers, supporters, and families… the energy was something else.

Awareness wasn’t just raised. It was felt.

To every rider, volunteer, donor, and supporter — thank you. Events like this show what’s possible when we show up for each other.

Today, on World MS Day, we at Heart in Hand Support Services hold space for every person living with Multiple Sclerosis.

Living with MS is not a straight path. It winds, it pauses, it asks more of you than anyone should ever have to give. There are days that feel impossibly heavy, and moments that test the very limits of your strength.
And still, gently, bravely, day by day — you keep going.

That is courage. That is strength. That is you.

To those who love and care for someone with MS — your gentleness and dedication matter deeply too. You are part of this journey, and you are valued.
