Friendship, trust, patience, and intimacy are all required in any well-rounded and strong partnership. However, with the curve balls life can throw at us, these important things can be replaced with distance and betrayal.

To help resolve these common challenges, Serenity Now Wellness looks to body-focused counselling.

This facet of treatment focuses on boundaries, in addition to the container of our being.

Boundary exercises are useful to help clients achieve separation while maintaining connection to another.

These series of exercises will be useful for relationships and re-exploring the opportunities for growth within a partnership.

If you are dealing with problems in your relationship, Serenity Now Wellness can help. Our qualified couples counsellors are here as an objective third party, helping you to restore emotional safety, increase communication, and bring couples closer.

If you have any questions about couples counselling, or you would like to set up an appointment with one of our experienced couples counsellors, please do not hesitate to contact us at (403) 454-7600 or click on the link in our bio and we will be happy to help.

September is Su***de Prevention Month. 💛

This month, we’re reminded that su***de prevention is not just about recognizing crisis—it’s about creating a culture where people feel safe enough to speak honestly about what they’re going through, and where reaching out for support is met with compassion rather than judgment.

Sometimes, the most meaningful thing we can do is simply notice someone, check in, and listen. You don’t need to have the perfect words or know exactly what to say. A simple “How are you really doing?” can open the door to connection.

If you’re struggling, please know that you don’t have to carry it alone. Support is available, and reaching out is a sign of courage, not weakness. And if you’re concerned about someone you care about, trust your instincts and let them know you’re there.

You matter. Your story matters. And support is available. 💛

If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, call 911. In Canada, you can also call or text 988 for 24/7 su***de crisis support.

For years, many people believed the brain followed a simple path: develop, peak, then decline.

Modern neuroscience tells a much more hopeful story.

A three-year study from the Center for BrainHealth at The University of Texas at Dallas followed 3,966 adults between the ages of 19 and 94 and found that brain health can improve throughout adulthood. The findings reinforce what we continue to learn about neuroplasticity: the brain remains capable of adapting, strengthening, and changing across the lifespan.

The bigger takeaway isn’t just that the brain changes.

It’s that brain health deserves the same proactive attention we give to muscle health, skin health, and physical recovery.

As healthcare continues to embrace preventative and restorative wellness, cognitive health and mental well-being are becoming an essential part of that conversation.

EXOMIND brings brain wellness into clinical practice with non-invasive ExoTMS™️ technology designed to support mental well-being and help practices expand their approach to whole-person care.

Because neuroplasticity doesn’t retire.

Feeling stuck in overwhelm?
It’s easy to get caught in a cycle of intense emotions.

The R.A.I.N method is a quick tool you can rely on to bring yourself back into balance. By recognizing your feelings and allowing them to exist without judgment, you can break free from the grip of overwhelm.

This gentle technique encourages self-reflection and compassion, helping you regain a sense of calm and clarity.

Keep R.A.I.N in your toolkit for those moments when you need to ground yourself and navigate your emotions more effectively.

Sometimes patients don’t opt out because they want to.

They opt out because they’ve quietly adapted.

For many women living with urinary incontinence or pelvic floor dysfunction, the impact extends far beyond bladder control. It can affect exercise, travel, intimacy, confidence, and participation in the moments that make life meaningful. Many simply stop talking about it—and start changing their lives around it.

That’s what makes pelvic health such an important conversation in clinical practice.

EMSELLA uses High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM®️) technology to stimulate thousands of supramaximal pelvic floor muscle contractions in a single session, offering clinics a non-invasive treatment option for patients experiencing urinary incontinence and pelvic floor weakness.

When patients regain confidence, they don’t just experience symptom improvement.

They get back to living.

If pelvic health is part of your practice—or could be—EMSELLA is changing the standard of care for non-invasive pelvic floor health.

Many apologies fall short because they tend to be vague, conditional, or overly focused on justifying intentions instead of recognizing the impact. This approach tackles all three of those shortcomings.

Clearly stating what you did instead of just saying “sorry” demonstrates that you’ve truly examined your actions. Acknowledging their experience indicates that you listened.

Committing to a specific change provides direction for the apology.

Finally, the concluding question allows for any further thoughts that might need to be expressed.

Screen time can help us escape stress, but escape isn’t always the same as recovery.

True self-care is about choosing activities that help your mind and body feel restored—not simply less busy.

Sometimes that’s watching your favourite show, and sometimes it’s taking a walk, stretching, connecting with someone you love, reading, or getting an earlier night of sleep.

Before reaching for your phone or the remote, ask yourself: “Am I choosing something that will help me recover—or something that will help me escape?”

There’s a place for both; the key is knowing the difference. 💚

First it was forgetting a password.

Then it was walking into a room and forgetting why.

Then it was rereading the same email three times before hitting send.

Many women enter perimenopause expecting hot flashes.

What often catches them off guard are the changes they notice in their brain.

Brain fog.

Interrupted sleep.

Difficulty concentrating.

Mood changes.

Feeling less resilient to everyday stress.

These experiences are common, and growing research continues to highlight the connection between hormonal changes, sleep quality, emotional well-being, and cognitive function during perimenopause and menopause.

In a recent EXOMIND study involving peri- and postmenopausal women:

• 88% reduction in clinician-reported depressive symptoms at 1 month*
• 82% of patients reported an improvement in mental well-being at 1 month*

Because perimenopause isn’t just a hormone conversation.

It’s a brain health conversation.
