A huge thank you to Ryan and Calgary Surge, and players Ross and Caelum for joining our PEER teen session, teaching the basics of basketball, playing with the teens, and simply having a blast together. The energy, encouragement, and connection made the session so special for everyone involved.

We also want to thank Coach Restie and Vision Sports Centre for their incredible support. We are so grateful to be back at Vision, and Coach Restie has made the classes such a fun and positive experience!

To make the experience even more memorable, the Calgary Surge went above and beyond by providing all teens attending the session with tickets to attend a game with their families. This will be such an exciting opportunity and experience for our PEER families.

Thank you for helping create moments of joy, confidence, and community for our teens! 💛 🏀

We are almost a week away until the 2026 Kids Cancer Care Ride for a Lifetime begins! It is not too late to sign up so come and join the fun on June 19 with a 1-day motorcycle ride through the Rocky Mountains. Make a difference by helping to raise funds for kids and families whose lives are turned upside down by childhood cancer.

The new 2026 route will take you through the beautiful landscapes of Southern Alberta. The cost is only $200 for riders and $150 for passengers, which will cover snacks along the route, Ride for A Lifetime branded swag, and gas cards courtesy of Stronghold Group.

To welcome everyone for the start of the ride, there will be a Breakfast at the Big Sky BBQ in Okotoks and at the end of the ride, everyone will get together at the Canadian Brewhouse in Cochrane for a celebratory dinner.

A huge shoutout to our sponsors: Excel Homes, The Stronghold Group, and C97.7 for making this possible!

Congratulations to the 2026 Derek Wandzura Memorial Scholarship recipients! 🎓 ✏️

On June 10, we celebrated an extraordinary group of young adults as they receive scholarships to help them pursue their educational goals and dreams for the future.

This year’s recipients join a remarkable community who have been recognized over the past 18 years. With this year’s awards, the Derek Wandzura Memorial Scholarship program has now provided more than $581K in scholarships to 253 inspiring young people.

We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and excited to see where their next chapters take them. From everyone at Kids Cancer Care, we wish them success, and we can't wait to see the impact they'll make!

💌 What happens when pen pals finally meet in person? Pure magic.

This weekend, we celebrated the incredible friendships formed through our Friends Through PENS pilot program at our very first Pen Pal Party!

The room was full of excitement as learners and tutors connected through mailbox decorating, pen pal connection games, kindness notes, message walls, a hilarious Mail Mix-Up challenge, mini keychain messages, and plenty of treats and laughter along the way.

What started as letters, drawings, and shared stories became real-life smiles, conversations, and meaningful connections.

A huge thank you to all the learners, tutors, and families who helped make this pilot program such a success. Watching these friendships come to life reminded us that even a simple letter can make a big difference.

Swipe through to see some of the fun from an unforgettable afternoon of connection, creativity, and community! 💛

At just four years old, Preston's childhood changed in an instant when he was diagnosed with leukemia.

Suddenly, days that were once filled with soccer, swimming, and playdates became filled with hospital visits, treatments, and uncertainty.

But thanks to supporters like you, Preston and his family had Kids Cancer Care. Preston and his sister Charleigh found friendship, connection, and the chance to simply be kids again through camp, PEER exercise program, Siblings program and much more.

Today, Preston is in remission and looking forward to going to Camp Kindle this summer along with his sister.

This June, your impact goes twice as far. Thanks to a generous matching opportunity, every dollar donated will be doubled to support children and families affected by cancer.

Give today and help more kids like Preston create memories beyond cancer: https://bit.ly/44bPbkd

Unlocking the magic at Camp Kindle! ✨ 💛

On Friday, May 29, children from the Kids Cancer Care community and generous donors officially opened the Shane Homes Treehouse Village at Camp Kindle — a one-of-a-kind, accessible play space created for children affected by cancer.

What started as a vision of one cancer survivor and former camper for one treehouse quickly became a village of treehouses for all kids affected by cancer in Alberta. Jo Pricca’s vision grew into an incredible play space designed to spark wonder, adventure, and joy. Set in the forest at Camp Kindle, the village features five treehouses connected by a large, wheelchair accessible platform with pathways leading to each treehouse. Co-designed with families, donors, and The Tula Project, the spaces are meant to inspire young imaginations and active, hands-on play, featuring a large excavator, a pirate ship, a lion’s den, a galactic gem star, and a backyard clubhouse.

A heartfelt thank you to Shane Homes for its lead gift, and to Essex Lease Financial Corporation, Calgary North Hill Lions Club, Optics Lighting, the Young family, and Jo Pricca for helping bring this incredible vision to life.

Special thanks to The Honourable Tanya Fir, Minister of Arts, Culture & the Status Women who brought announced a $10K grant for Kids Cancer Care to host our very first dads’ weekend at Camp Kindle this fall.

Together, you’ve helped create a magical place for children affected by cancer to imagine, explore, and shine.

P.S - This carousel is long… but so was the list of magical moments. Keep scrolling for smiles and magic. 😃

Rock Your Locks is officially underway with Calgary Schools!

In May, we had 5 students and 2 teachers shave their heads at St. Helena school and stood in solidarity with kids with cancer. The day was filled with excitement, cheers and tons of smiles 😊

Congratulations to each of you who participated, not only shaving your heads but raising funds for our programs here at Kids Cancer Care! We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without supporters like you!

A MASSIVE thank you to for coming out to help with the shaves, donating their time, and for being incredible supporters of our Rock Your Locks program.
