Fireweed Wellness Lodge Indigenous care providers supporting families through culturally safe programming, services, education And we governed by natural law and Ceremony.

ihkapaskwa Indigenous Wellness Collective is a local Non-Profit, centred around wahkohtowin. wahkohtowin is a Cree word which denotes the interconnected nature of relationships, communities, and natural systems. Our programming provides wrap-around support dedicated to Indigenous families that offers a continuum of care across the life cycle by reclaiming traditional kin systems within the communi

ty. We are dedicated to address gaps in service in western healthcare through support-based Indigenous kinship systems, and incorporating traditional ways of healing and wellness. By incorporating Elders, Aunties, Uncles and Birthworkers we are reawakening traditions, and incorporating them into our families. Adding to the collective healing of our communities, right from birth.

🌸 We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make our new Aunties RV possible.

This mobile space will allow the Aunties to bring barrier-free, culturally grounded care, education, wellness, and resources directly into the community. By meeting community members where they are, the RV will create new opportunities to connect with the Aunties, access midwifery services, receive wrap-around support, and share knowledge in a space that feels welcoming, safe, and familiar.

A heartfelt thank you to our funders and supporters:

Dr. Karen Lawford
David Leech
Dr. Stephanie Montesanti and the CARE Lab at the University of Alberta

Government of Alberta – Ministry of Indigenous Relations

Thank you for supporting us, and helping bring this vision to life. We’re excited for all that this space will make possible and for the relationships, teachings, and opportunities that will grow from it.

What an incredible day on the course! ⛳💛

We had so much fun connecting with our community, sharing resources, and raising awareness about the support Aunties Within Reach provides throughout our region.

From meaningful conversations at our information booth to meeting golfers and community members throughout the day, every interaction was an opportunity to share that no one has to navigate pregnancy, birth, postpartum, or parenting alone.

Our Safe Snaggin’ Kits were a hit and sparked so many important conversations about harm reduction, reproductive health, and community support.

Of course, we couldn’t resist joining in on the fun too! We were honoured to receive the Team Spirit Award (which truly reflects the heart of our team) and the Most Honest Team Award proof that while our golf skills may still be a work in progress, our enthusiasm certainly isn’t! 😂

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, asked questions, shared stories, donated, or simply took the time to learn more about our work. Days like these remind us that building healthier communities starts with connection and conversation.

A heartfelt thank you to for creating our beautiful golf skirts.

Lastly, thank you to the volunteers, sponsors, organizers, and everyone who made this event such a success. We are grateful to have been part of such a meaningful day and are already looking forward to next year!
