I have not dyed my hair in over 3 years due to the fears of the side effect of hair loss. I wish I’d caved sooner as it mentally feels great to have a change (and the pampering!) that I can control!

Quick update that’s mostly positive!! Only thing that showed on the bone/ct scans was more osteoarthritis and planter fasciitis…..cancer spot is still stable!!
Good results from altering my chemo med schedule too from the 3 weeks on 1 week off to the 2 weeks on 2 weeks off. Neutrophils (white blood cells) had been consistent for 3 years at .9 where 1 is worrisome. They have jumped to 1.89….2 is ideal but much closer to that than .9!! So I have a bit more of an immune system.
My oncologist said “for a cancer patient, you are doing really well”

This was an uplifting appointment for sure!!
It came perfect timing as someone in one of my support groups lost her battle this week after 6 years. I’m at 3. As hard as you try not to go there and compare, you do. You count years of others and wonder when that switch goes for you. When do the drugs stop working etc.
But then I have an appointment of all wins like I had and remember everyone is literally on a different journey.
So reminder to live in what is and not what could be!!

Some people think cancer fatigue just means being “a little tired.”

But it’s so much more than that.

It’s waking up exhausted after sleeping all night.
It’s feeling like your body weighs 1,000 pounds before the day even starts.
It’s trying to smile, parent, work, clean, answer texts, go to appointments, and survive… all while your body is begging you to stop.

And the hardest part?
Most people can’t see it.

Cancer fatigue is real.
Not laziness.
Not weakness.
Not “just needing more sleep.”

So if you’ve ever felt guilty for needing rest… this is your reminder that your body is fighting harder than most people realize. 🩷💙💚

Nobody really talks about how cancer changes the way you move through the world… not just your body.

People expect the obvious changes.

The appointments.
The treatments.
The exhaustion.
The way your body looks and feels.

That part, people can wrap their heads around.

What they don’t really see… is everything else.

It’s the way you pause before making plans now.
The way “yes” isn’t automatic anymore.
The way you scan your body without even thinking about it, noticing every little thing.

It’s the mental math you do all day long.
Do I have the energy for this?
What will this cost me later?
Is it worth it today?

It’s how normal things don’t always feel normal anymore.
Even the good moments can have a layer to them that’s hard to explain unless you’ve lived it.

And from the outside, it can look like you’re just going about your life.
Showing up. Smiling. Doing the things.

But inside… everything moves a little different.

Your thoughts are different.
Your priorities are different.
The way you experience time, your body, your relationships… all of it shifts.

It’s not always loud.
A lot of it is quiet.
Subtle.
Constant.

And that’s the part that’s hardest to explain.

Because how do you put into words something that changed everything… without looking like anything changed at all?

Meant to share this here…not my personal page! Had my 3 month check in today. Scans were showing no progression so yay!!
White blood count was down. Again. So because it’s been consistent at 1.98 where it should be over 2 she asked if I’d be willing to try 2 weeks on chemo pill, 2 weeks off vs 3 weeks on, 1 week off. Hoping it will bring my blood counts up and in turn more energy. It’s not the “standard of care” they follow but we’re taking the chance since I’ve been stable for so long.
She’s said this to me multiple times but her job is to keep me comfortable as long as possible and alive as long as possible. In that order. I’m A ok with that!!

This is huge for our area!! I’ve had to go to Mississauga twice as the wait time was way quicker than Ottawa so will be...
