Who Needs A Bone Density Scan?

Anyone 65 or older should get a bone density scan. If you are taking steroids (such as Prednisone or Cortisone) for any condition, this test should be done at any age.

Please see your physician to ensure that a Bone Density exam is Appropriate for you.

For all Bone Mineral Densitometry (BMD) exams, a valid referral (requisition) from a licensed physician or nurse practitioner is required.
