PSW Appreciation Day, May 19th.
We spent the day delivering flowers, small gifts, and a handwritten note to every PSW on our team, across the Niagara Region from Fort Erie to Grimsby. Each note was personal, a few lines naming what that specific person brings to our clients and to our team, because no two PSWs do this work the same way and recognition should reflect that.
We also set up a self-serve display at our office at Marotta Family Hospital so that any PSW walking by, whether they work with us or not, could take a flower home with our thanks.
A special thank you to the staff in these photos. Stacey, four years with SHHC. Elizabeth, two years. Gladys, a year and a half. Shvina, whose nursing background and clinical instincts strengthen the whole team. The kind of continuity that families remember.
And to the team who made the deliveries happen, Brittany, Margaret, Joselyn, and Ian, thank you for spending your day driving across the region so that no one was missed.
Personal Support Workers are the people who actually show up. In living rooms, in apartment hallways, at bedsides, on the days that are hard and the days that are ordinary. They are the reason families sleep at night.
To every PSW out there, the ones on our team and the ones on someone else’s, thank you. You are not invisible to us. You never have been.
For 20 years, Sandra’s Home Health Care has been built around one belief. The people doing the care are the care.
Happy PSW Appreciation Day.
