The self care industry would have you believe that the right candle, the right morning routine, or the right mindfulness app is all you need.
But real self care isn’t a formula, it’s a practice of honest attention. It asks you to pause, listen to what’s actually going on inside, and respond to that specific need rather than reaching for the nearest prescribed solution.
Sometimes that looks like a walk outside. Sometimes it looks like calling someone you love. Sometimes it looks like going to bed early. The activity matters far less than the attunement behind it.
