Thinking about counselling but not sure what it would actually be like? 💬
Many people think counselling is sitting in a room talking about your problems. While talking can be part of the process, counselling is really about having a safe, supportive space to explore what's going on in your life—at a pace that feels right for you.
Counselling can help if you're experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, loss, life changes, feeling overwhelmed, or simply feeling stuck. You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from counselling.
And if talking feels difficult, that's okay too.
Counselling can include creative ways of exploring thoughts and feelings, such as:
Drawing, colouring, or using images
Cards and prompts
Writing or journalling
Metaphors, objects, and visual tools
Mindfulness and grounding activities
You don't need to be artistic or creative. The focus isn't on what you create—it's about finding a way to express yourself that feels comfortable and meaningful.
✨ A space without judgement
✨ Time to be heard and understood
✨ Support to make sense of your experiences
✨ Exploring ways forward that work for you
There is no "perfect reason" to come to counselling, and there is no right or wrong way to engage with it.
If you're curious about counselling and would like to know more, send us a message. We'd be happy to chat and answer any questions you may have.

A gentle reminder from us:
Trauma isn’t only caused by big, overwhelming events. It can also come from small, repeated moments that left a child feeling unseen, unheard, unsafe, or alone. Often, it’s not about what happened but about what was missing: comfort, reassurance, consistency, or someone to say “I’m here with you.”
If this resonates with you, I want you to know this: there is nothing wrong with you. The ways you learned to cope were your nervous system’s way of protecting you. Your responses make sense, and they deserve compassion, not judgment.
You don’t have to carry this alone.
In my work as a therapist, I offer a warm, supportive space where you can move at your own pace, feel truly heard, and begin to heal safely. When you’re ready, therapy with me, Michele, can help you reconnect with yourself and create healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
Healing is possible, and I’m here to support you.

Bank Holiday Reminder: It’s Okay If Slowing Down Feels Hard
Long weekends can bring pressure to “relax,” recharge, or make the most of every moment, but for many people, slowing down isn’t always easy.
When life has been stressful, overwhelming, or emotionally exhausting, quiet moments can sometimes make anxious thoughts feel louder. If you’re finding this Bank Holiday difficult, you are not alone.
Taking care of your mental health doesn’t have to look perfect. Sometimes it’s:
✨ Saying no to extra pressure
✨ Taking a break without guilt
✨ Talking things through with someone you trust
✨ Allowing yourself time to rest and reset
We offer professional counselling and mental health support in a safe, compassionate space, helping adults navigate anxiety, stress, burnout, low mood, and life’s challenges.
This Bank Holiday, try to give yourself the same kindness you give to everyone else. 💚

This week is a reminder that mental health matters — every day, for everyone.
At Castle Counselling Service, we believe that reaching out for support is a sign of strength, not weakness. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stressed, or simply need someone to talk to, you do not have to face things alone.
Small steps can make a big difference:
Take time to rest
Talk openly with someone you trust
Be kind to yourself
Check in on friends and loved ones
Together, we can help break the stigma around mental health and create a more supportive community for all.
If you or someone you know may benefit from counselling support, Castle Counselling Service is here to help.
