Why train with me?

I was the first ever Hypopressive coach in Scotland over 12 years ago.

Over the last 12 years I have spent my time rebuilding, refining and rewriting the training manuals, theory and deep knowledge that make the training at the International Hypopressives Council UK some of the most up-to-date you will find.

We continuously keep abreast of changes in our understanding of fascia, visceral movement potential, pressure dynamics, intermittent hypoxia, and how all of this can affect the body and pelvic floor. Our courses have just undergone their latest update and are ready to be studied, discussed and debated with me during your training and practical days.

We are not a wholly online training company because myself and my team truly understand the value of learning about bodies in person.

Whether it’s my hybrid format, one full day on Zoom followed by a full in-person practical day, or, if you are further away, completing your practical training live via Zoom, the learning is always live and interactive.

That means you can ask real questions in real time… and get real answers.

We teach practitioners how to think, not just how to copy a pose.

Reconnect WOW

What a weekend. I am thankful for everyone who joined me and for the hosts of the space and for the love and compassion the group held throughout! And I am pretty tired! So what happened?

New friendships.
Deep conversations.
Belly laughs.
Tears.
Release.
Relief.
And that rare feeling of being able to simply arrive as your real self.

Over the retreat, we explored how our bodies truly work,not just muscles and posture, but breath, nervous system, fascia, emotion, movement and connection.

Using techniques drawn from my (Abby Lord’s) years of experience working with women’s bodies, we moved through Hypopressives, bodyweight strength work, alternative pelvic floor approaches, visualisations, breathwork, shoulder and knee connection work, and TRE®.

And then there was the incredible Gemma Gilmour ✨

Gemma brought such powerful insight into belief shifting and the patterns we can unconsciously live inside. Through themes of acceptance, appreciation and awe, she helped us reflect on the stories we hold about ourselves, our bodies and our lives, and what can begin to change when we soften, notice and reconnect.

There were moments of deep stillness.
Moments of laughter.
Moments where people realised they were not alone.

There was space to learn.
Space to move.
Space to rest.
Space to breathe.
And space to stop performing and simply be.

All held in the beautiful setting of Roulotte Retreat, tucked away in the heart of the Scottish Borders.

This retreat sold out!

So many of us are craving connection.
A nervous system exhale.
A chance to come back to ourselves underneath the noise.

I am now quietly taking notes of interest for the next Amazing Wellness Retreat Reconnect

TRE® is hard to explain until you feel it.

It is that moment your body realises it does not have to keep holding everything so tightly.

The jaw softens.
The breath drops.
The shoulders let go.
The nervous system exhales.

Through gentle movement and natural tremoring, TRE® creates space for the body to release stress, tension, and protective holding patterns from the inside out.

I call my method the Abby Method

When you work with me it changes and becomes ‚insert your name here‘

Because all the modalities I use I combine in an individualised way.

Jane may need loads of TRE®️
Sarah may need weights
Claire may need breath work
Mary might need all if it 😀

Every woman and sometimes man who walks through my door is an individual and I have built my practice so I have the tools to help your confidence soar.

I needed Hypopressives to help me manage pressure and to find my posture again after years of breastfeeding and carrying babies!

I needed weights and Pilates to strengthen and to support my pelvic floor.

I needed TRE®️ to help me find balance in my nervous system

And Franklin Method®️well that helped with my self talk and gave me a deeper understanding of how my body moves, which has helped me move better!

I always come back to the jigsaw 🧩 you have all your pieces they have just not quite slotted into the right section, because you have maybe lost the picture on the box it came with! - and that picture we can work out together!

TRE®️isn’t the answer to all my first world problems - but it absolutely helps my nervous system take a step back and pause.
Life can be absolutely mental - full on and our bodies, our gorgeous little souls really, really need a gorgeous body led way to chill out.
And TRE®️ absolutly is that!
