When we walk outdoors the brain shifts into a naturally restorative state, soothed by the steady left‑right rhythm of our steps. Stress hormones ease and emotional processing are supported.
Walking also returns us to a natural pace our nervous system instinctively understands - neither rushed nor still. As we notice birdsong, fragmented sunlight, and the feel of the ground beneath us, the body receives a message of safety, and from there we can establish a sense of perspective and mental relief.
If you'd like to join a guided forest bathing walk, grounded in mindfulness techniques and taking in the benefits of walking and being amongst the trees, the booking links are in the first comment.
I look forward to meeting you.
