Is there’s something in my image you disagree with, you may be tempted to unfollow me or judge.

In today’s society, the ‘black or white’ or the ‘you’re in my camp or you’re not in my camp’ has become the norm, and what we’ve learned to do is disengage or separate from what we perceive is the opposite to us.

Healthy debate is rare these days. Disagreement without trying to understand is common. Not listening and becoming defensive is common.

Often, what we don’t like, disagree with or what makes us uncomfortable, we usually go into fight or flight.

Now, I get that with some of the radical, often extreme views and actions that are harming others and affecting us in an unkind or sometimes destructive way.

My invitation to us all, including myself when my auto reaction is to judge, fight or withdraw, is to hear others.

Acceptance does not mean to like something. We can dislike and disagree with something or someone and still offer acceptance. Try it. It’s challenging though. See what happens.

There’s enough division, separation, and isolation in the world today. Let’s see if we can close this a little and have more connection.

Of course, there are other times where our values, morals and ethics are too important, that we do have to walk away, and I get that. It is important to make that decision.

Anyway, without blethering on too much, this is another post to introduce me and what’s important to me.

I’m still smiling at Luna trying to lick Sarah Rutterford’s cheek this morning while we planned our Wild Warrior Women One Day Retreat 🌊

🗓️ Saturday 22nd August 2026
📍 Yellowcraig, East Lothian

Wild Swimming • Beach Yoga • Forest Bathing • Mindful Walking • Poetry • Compassion Practices

“The quality of the day was so restorative, fun, and outdoorsy — being with women who love growth and nature was enriching beyond words.”

Yellowcraig isn’t just a beach. It’s where the sea opens your chest a little wider, where ancient Scots pines lean into the wind, and Bass Rock rises across the water alive with gannets.

Together we’ll share:
🌿 Slow forest bathing
🌊 Optional wild swimming
🧘 Beach yoga by the coast
💛 Compassion practices that soothe, not strive
🔥 Honest, heartfelt women’s circles

Perhaps what you’ve been searching for isn’t something to add to your life — perhaps it’s something the sea’s been waiting to remind you.

💛 All funds support our pay-it-forward fund, helping people access counselling who can’t otherwise afford it. Link in bio (direction.org.uk).

Cancer can leave you feeling exhausted.

Not just physically.
Emotionally.
Mentally.
Spiritually.

It can leave you questioning who you are, doubting yourself and wondering if you’ll ever feel like “you” again.

Our Wild Hope Retreat isn’t about focusing on what cancer has taken or still taking, it’s about rebuilding and building your capacity within and moving forward with strength and courage.

It’s about gently helping you reconnect with what is still within you.
Your courage.
Your strength.
Your hope.

Join Anna and myself for a restorative weekend of coaching, connection, nature and compassionate support.

📅 30 October to 1 November 2026

When was the last time you stood beneath an endless sky… and felt your shoulders finally soften?

Imagine your feet sinking into warm, golden sand as the tide breathes in and out beside you. Salt lingers on the breeze. Seabirds glide overhead. And for a moment, every deadline and expectation feels a little further away.

Yellowcraig isn’t simply a beach.

It is a place where the sea opens your chest a little wider.

Where ancient Scots pines lean into the wind.
Where wildflowers dance through the dunes.
Where the waves whisper a rhythm older than worry itself.

Out across the sparkling water, Bass Rock rises from the sea, alive with thousands of gannets. Beyond lie the Isle of May and the enchanting island of Fidra.

Together we’ll share:

Come and spend a day where the horizon stretches your perspective, the ocean steadies your spirit, and nature gently guides you back to yourself and finds going to our pay it forward support.

I understand, not from a textbook, but from decades of sitting alongside people in some of the hardest moments of their lives, what it takes to move from surviving to truly living. That understanding is what inspired me to create Wild Hope.

For over 34 years, I’ve worked as a psychotherapist, mindful compassion coach and retreat leader. My work has always been about creating safe, compassionate spaces where people can reconnect with themselves, find hope again and discover the strength that already exists within them.

This retreat comes from more than my professional experience.

I’ve watched people I love suffer. I’ve walked alongside clients through unimaginable challenges. Time and again, I’ve seen what happens when treatment ends, the appointments become less frequent, and everyone assumes life simply returns to normal and all that sh*tty rollcoaster throughout.

That’s why I created Wild Hope with my wonderful co-facilitator, Anna Baker, a cancer rehabilitation specialist.

I’m endlessly curious about neuroscience, the power of awareness, and our incredible capacity to heal, grow and adapt. Over the years, I’ve learned that true healing isn’t just about what happens to us. It’s about how we meet ourselves afterwards.

Cancer can change everything.

It can change your relationship with your body, your energy, your priorities and your understanding of what truly matters.

And when the intensity of treatment begins to ease, many people are left asking one simple question:

“What happens now?”

Wild Hope was created for that space.

The space between what has been and what comes next.

This isn’t about rushing to move on or pretending the experience didn’t happen.

It’s about giving yourself permission to pause.

To reflect.

To honour everything you’ve been through.

To reconnect with yourself.

To gently explore how you want to live this next chapter of your life.

✨ What if the biggest step in your recovery wasn’t another treatment or appointment... but giving yourself permission to pause and step of that hamster wheel just for the weekend?

Cancer can take so much from you... your energy, confidence, identity and hope. But it doesn’t have to define what comes next.

At our Wild Hope Retreat, you’ll leave with:
💚 More energy and self-compassion
🌿 Practical tools to support your wellbeing
✨ Greater confidence and clarity
🤍 A deeper connection with yourself and others who truly understand
🍂 Space to breathe, reflect and move forward with hope

Many people put off coming on a retreat because they think they should cope on their own, don’t want to put themselves first, or wonder if it’s really worth the investment.

But what if giving yourself this time was the most important investment you could make?

Co facilitated Ange and Anna have brought together a profound offering just for you.

SelfCompassion Hope

If you think using Mother Nature and the ocean as therapy think again. It’s two of the most powerful resources ever!

As a mindful compassion coach and psychotherapist with a depth of experience, knowledge and understanding of what we need and want as human beans I’ve taken clients into the sea and helped them recover from loss, trauma, addictions and helped them through suicidal tendencies and helped them come off antidepressants.

I also facilitate real empowering sessions to help them through change, anxiety, and build their confidence and believe in themselves like never before.

There’s different ways to use these resources rather than just walking in nature and going wild swimming. Want me to show you how just get in touch.

One of the things Anna sees time and time again through her work in cancer rehabilitation is that people stop trusting themselves.

And we’ve (Anna & Ange your retreat facilitators) heard from the men and women we work with is that often your body doesn’t feel familiar anymore.

People have asked us:

• Is it safe to move?
• Am I doing too much?
• Will I ever feel like me again?

At our Wild Hope Retreat, movement isn’t about pushing through.

Our whole retreat is about rebuilding trust.

Through gentle, cancer-informed Pilates and supportive guidance, Anna helps you reconnect with what your body can do, listening deeply and moving at a pace that feels right for you.

Whilst Ange will take you through some deep self care practices that can re wire your brain, build your capacity and belief in yourself.

Because hope doesn’t always arrive in grand gestures.

Sometimes it begins with:
✨ taking a walk
✨ stretching without fear
✨ breathing deeply
✨ remembering that your body is still yours.

Anna will also help you trust yourself again and connect with your body. Time and time again people say how they love Anna’s approach and how it’s helped them in her can rehab classes.

If you’re living with cancer, recovering from treatment, or supporting someone who is, we’d love to welcome you.
