Knees
Medical massage is crucial for athletes, and people that live an active lifestyle because it corrects muscular imbalances, improves joint mobility, and accelerates recovery. Because the knee is essentially a hinge joint heavily dependent on the muscles that cross it, keeping those surrounding tissues healthy prevents excess friction and wear on the joint.
Here is why it is so important for athletes and sports enthusiasts:
* Muscle Tension Relief: Intense sport often overworks the quadriceps, hamstrings, and calves. When these muscles become tight, they pull the kneecap out of proper alignment (patellar tracking issues) and grind against the cartilage. Massage releases this tightness, ensuring smooth, pain-free tracking.
* Reduced Joint Friction: Tightness in the surrounding tissues forces the bones of the knee to compress. Massaging these muscles relieves this constriction, allowing natural synovial fluid to properly lubricate the joint.
* Improved Blood and Lymphatic Circulation: Massage enhances blood flow, rushing oxygen and vital nutrients to stressed tendons and ligaments for faster repair. It also aids lymphatic drainage, which quickly clears away metabolic waste and reduces post-workout swelling.
* Prevention of Scar Tissue Adhesions: If you have suffered from minor tears or repetitive strains (like IT band syndrome or tendonitis), massage breaks down scar tissue, realigns ligament fibers, and prevents the tissues from becoming stiff.
* Enhanced Flexibility: Regular deep tissue work and focused manipulation of the soft tissues help maintain or restore a healthy range of motion in the lower limbs, reducing the likelihood of sudden strains

I have arthritis in my hips and knees and Wendy’s massage has made an amazing difference I would definitely recommend her all her treatments.
Mary 😊
I have had 5 treatments from this wonderful lady and can’t thank her enough for the difference she has made to my body.
Wendy makes you so relaxed and at ease from the moment you meet her. Over the years I have saw physiotherapists, chiropractors etc but to no avail it only made me more sore, but for the time that Wendy has been working on me has made me feel that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I have Fibromyalgia and arthritis in my knees both my hips and my back, plus a lot of other medical aliments. It was Wendy that told me to ask my doctor to send my for an X-ray on my hips as she was pretty sure I had arthritis in them, doctor pulled my legs here there and said in his opinion my hips were fine but would send me for an X-ray anyway well yesterday he ate his words and said your therapist was right you have arthritis in both hips.
Wendy is doing a great service as at the end of her findings they will be presented to the health board to try and get these treatments on the NHS
Get in touch with her you will not be disappointed I can guarantee it.
Irene 😊
