That is completely normal. Many people come to us feeling bloated, sluggish, constipated, tired, inflamed, stressed, or unsure where to start with their gut health and wellbeing.

Your first appointment is designed to feel calm, private and supportive. We take time to understand your symptoms, health history, lifestyle, medication, supplements and goals before discussing suitable options.

In our new guide, we cover:

• What happens at your first consultation
• What to bring with you
• What we may ask about
• How to prepare for your first colonic
• What to avoid before and after treatment
• What to eat after a colonic
• When symptoms should be checked medically
• Questions to ask during your appointment

For first-time colonic clients, we also explain why we recommend drinking still water in the week before treatment and avoiding alcohol, spicy foods and fizzy drinks, including sparkling water, for 24–48 hours before and after.

Are you taking Mounjaro and unsure what to eat?

Mounjaro can help reduce appetite, but it is not a full nutrition plan on its own. Your body still needs protein, hydration, fibre, movement and recovery support, especially if you want to lose weight while protecting muscle, energy and digestion.

Our new guide explains:

What to eat on Mounjaro
Why protein matters
How to support hydration
What to do about constipation
Whether ketosis is necessary
How to train while appetite is low
Why healthy ageing and muscle preservation matter

This is especially important for anyone in midlife, menopause, andropause, training regularly or trying to avoid feeling weak, tired or under-fuelled.

Mounjaro is a prescription medicine and should only be used with appropriate medical supervision.

Looking for a simple savoury fibre recipe?

Our Psyllium Flatbread Recipe is a high-fibre wrap alternative made with psyllium husk, oat flour or ground almonds, egg and warm water.

Psyllium helps bind the dough and gives the flatbread structure, making it ideal as a wrap, soup side or base for toppings such as hummus, avocado, eggs, salad or roasted vegetables.

It is simple, flexible and a great way to use psyllium in food rather than as a drink.

As always, fibre works best with enough fluid, so drink water alongside fibre-rich meals and build slowly if your gut is sensitive.

Fibre pancakes with psyllium husk 🥞

This simple breakfast recipe uses banana, eggs, oats, cinnamon and psyllium husk to create soft, naturally sweet pancakes with a fibre boost.

They are ideal for a slower weekend breakfast or for anyone looking for a more fibre-focused alternative to standard pancakes.

A few tips:

Let the batter rest for 3–5 minutes so the psyllium can thicken.

Keep the pancakes small so they are easier to flip.

Cook on a low-medium heat.

Serve with yoghurt, berries, banana, cinnamon or seeds.

Drink water alongside fibre-rich meals, as psyllium absorbs fluid.

17 tips for gut health when healthy eating is making you bloated

Trying to eat healthy should make your digestion feel better, not worse. But many people suddenly add salads, smoothies, fibre, protein bars, fermented foods and strict food rules, then feel more bloated, constipated or uncomfortable.

Here are some common mistakes to watch for:

Eating too much raw food, not drinking enough water with fibre, rushing meals, eating while stressed, eating late at night, choosing low-fat foods that are still high in sugar, relying on protein bars, overusing sweeteners and changing everything at once.

The goal is not perfection. The goal is to give your gut a calmer, more consistent routine.

Bloating, constipation and sluggish digestion can be frustrating, uncomfortable and hard to understand.

Gentle Pilates may support bowel motility by helping the body move, breathe and relax. It can encourage spinal mobility, pelvic movement, better posture, abdominal relaxation and nervous-system calm.

Reformer Pilates offers a structured, low-impact way to build strength and mobility while supporting better movement habits. For those in Leicester, .BALANCE Reformer Pilates & The Sanctuary Café in Enderby is a calm and supportive place to explore this style of movement.

At EternalBeing, we always look at the bigger picture. Bloating and constipation can be linked with hydration, fibre, stress, sleep, gut bacteria, eating habits, hormones, medication and bowel routine.

Pilates is not a cure, and persistent or worsening symptoms should always be checked. But for many people, gentle movement can be a valuable part of a wider gut-health plan.

🚽 Why you should never keep holding your bowel movements

We have all done it — ignored the urge because we were busy, at work, travelling, at school, or avoiding a public toilet.

But when this becomes a regular habit, it can affect your bowel rhythm and may contribute to constipation, bloating, pressure, gas, straining and poor toilet confidence.

Many bowel-holding habits start young, especially at school, where people may have felt embarrassed, rushed, unsafe or uncomfortable using the toilet. Those habits can carry into adulthood without us realising.

Your body sends the urge for a reason. Listening to it is one of the simplest ways to support better bowel health.

Gut health advice is everywhere right now… but how much of it is actually accurate? 👀

A recent MyFitnessPal study suggested that the vast majority of gut wellness trend information online may not be reliable — which is exactly why guessing is not the answer.

At Eternal Being, we take a scientific, personalised approach. Our microbiome testing can help identify what’s really going on in your gut, so we can better understand your symptoms and recommend the right support for you.

No trends. No guesswork. Just targeted testing and tailored protocols.

Let’s talk fibre 🌿

Everyone is talking about fibre right now, and yes — it’s incredibly important for digestion, bowel health and overall wellbeing.

But if your fibre intake has been low, suddenly adding lots in at once can leave you feeling bloated, uncomfortable or “bunged up”.

The key is to increase fibre gradually and gently, giving your digestive system time to adjust. Start small, build slowly, and aim towards around 30g of fibre per day.

Want to understand fibre better and how to get more into your diet?
