LAST NIGHT’S SOUND – BLUEBELL WOODS

Thank you to everyone who joined me last night at Narborough for our monthly sound bath 🤍

Yesterday was a difficult day for me, as I registered my father’s death at lunchtime. I felt really anxious about whether I should still go ahead in the evening.

After visiting the registrar, I went to Groby Pool and walked through the woods to see the stunning bluebells. It felt really special. Although I was alone, I didn’t feel alone — there was a sense of presence with me.

I came home feeling calmer and rewrote the meditation, which became “Bluebell Woods”, and that’s what I shared with you last night. The photos I’ve shared aren’t from our session, but from that walk — the inspiration behind it. I hope it felt okay to share something so personal; it felt right for me.

As soon as I arrived at NPC, I knew I’d made the right decision to go ahead. Creating that sanctuary of calm for you also brings calm to me. I truly love that space and the community we’ve built together.

That room always feels safe, calm, and beautiful to me — I hope it does for you too.

Seeing your familiar faces, along with some new ones, really lifted my spirit. The energy felt intense, but deeply healing. My dreams were vivid and full, and this morning I feel calmer and more at peace.

NEXT SOUND BATH DATE - NARBOROUGH

BURNOUT

A little confession… the past few weeks I haven’t been practising what I preach.

My nervous system has been in overdrive. I’ve felt completely burnt out — waking up exhausted, skipping the gym, reaching for sugar, slipping back into old habits. A couple of late nights, a few too many drinks… all the things I know trigger my chronic fatigue.

And just like that, the cycle starts again.

This weekend, we went away and I honestly worried I wouldn’t feel well enough to even get outside.

But nature did what it always does…

I walked miles — even up some pretty brutal hills.
I slept deeply.
I rested by the fire with a book.
I sat in stillness, wrapped in a blanket, listening to the birds and the wind in the trees.

I stopped pushing.
I nourished my body.

And slowly… I came back to myself.

Today I feel like a different person. My health markers are the best they’ve been in weeks.

A gentle reminder:
Sometimes the answer is to simply step back, slow down, and let nature do the healing ❤️

THE CONTROL CIRCLE
I really love this another brilliantly effective simple but not simplistic tool from the amazing had to share.

Identify what’s in your control. Think of everything that’s worrying you at the moment. Draw a large circle on a piece of paper. Inside that circle, write down all the worries that you can do something about. Any worries left? Write them outside the circle. Now here’s the important bit. You can’t control any of the worries that are outside the circle, so don’t let them take up so much space in your head.

RELAX INTO HALF TERM 🌿

This Sunday I’m back at Blaby Social Centre for our Soothing Sunday meditation and sound bath, 4–5:30pm.

A little thank you… and a re-introduction 💫

A couple of days ago marked one year since I first began sharing my sound with the public — and what a journey it’s been.

Thank you so much for all the support, love and beautiful feedback I’ve received along the way. It truly means the world to know it’s making a difference 🤍

For those who are new here, I’m Katie — sound healing practitioner and Reiki practitioner. I’m married to my soulmate Jonny (my lovely “roadie” and biggest supporter), we’ve been together for 21 happy years, married for 12, and we share life with our handsome cat, Willow.

Around 15 years ago I became quite unwell, and during my own healing journey I discovered sound. It had such a powerful impact on my recovery, it helped me reconnect with myself, I completely fell in love with it and eventually trained to become a sound healer myself.

I nearly talked myself out of doing the training, thinking it was a daft idea — thankfully my best friend encouraged me to go for it. The training took around two years, and I’m now a fully qualified sound healing practitioner, as well as a Reiki practitioner.

A year ago, I played publicly for the first time to help raise money for a local charity. I was absolutely terrified, playing publicly was something I was never sure I’d have the confidence to do. But I followed my intuition, and since then I’ve held monthly events, played at retreats, and even co-hosted my own retreats with some wonderful practitioners.

Looking back, I’m so grateful I took the leap and trusted the journey. Sound has truly changed my life for the better. Many doors have opened; many beautiful connections have been made and many chocolate dates consumed.

SOOTHING SUNDAY – February 15th
Theme: Self Love ❤️

The energy on Sunday was a little wild… in the most beautiful way.

I felt such a powerful release while playing – it moved through me and out into the room. It was freeing and deeply needed.

It was a smaller, more intimate gathering this time, but it felt completely right. Sometimes those are the most special spaces 🙏🏻

I left feeling so much lighter – and from the messages I’ve received, I know some of you did too.

My next date in Blaby is Sunday 29th March – I’d love to see you there.
