In a world where children's lives are becoming increasingly structured, scheduled, and influenced by technology, imagination is more important than ever.

There was a time when children spent hours creating magical worlds, building dens, climbing trees, and inventing adventures.

Today, many children have less freedom, more rules, and fewer opportunities to simply let their imagination lead the way.

This is one of the reasons we created My Magical Tree.

Unlike traditional storybooks, My Magical Tree invites children to make choices throughout their journey. They decide what their magical tree looks like, who lives there, what treasures they discover, and where their imagination takes them. These choices are more than just fun, they give children something incredibly valuable: a sense of control.

When children are able to choose, they feel empowered. They learn that their thoughts, ideas, and feelings matter. This can be especially important in a world where so many decisions are made for them.

Imagination is not just about escaping reality. It helps children process emotions, solve problems, build confidence, develop creativity, and explore who they are in a safe and supportive way.

Another unique feature of My Magical Tree is the guidance section at the back of the book. The choices children make throughout their journey can sometimes offer adults a gentle insight into how a child may be feeling and what emotional needs they might have. These translations are not intended as diagnoses or definitive interpretations, simply suggestions and starting points for meaningful conversations.

Every child is unique, and the magic lies in allowing them the freedom to create their own world, their own story, and their own path.

Sometimes, all a child needs is a little space to imagine.

🌳✨ What might your child's magical tree reveal?

I’ve been creating lots of magical mindfulness resources for children recently, helping mindfulness feel playful, calming, creative and accessible for all children ✨

This week I tried out my newest resource for the very first time with two groups of children — The Star Rocket Mission 🚀⭐

The children began by cutting out their stars and colouring them in before we all sat together in a circle ready for our special mission.

As I read the story, the children became calm little astronauts travelling through space to help return the missing stars to the sky. At different points in the story they practised mindfulness through breathing, stillness, listening and slow movement.

One by one, each child carefully collected a star from the middle of the circle and then chose the next child to take a turn until everybody had a star.

What was so lovely to witness was the calmness throughout the whole session.
There was:
⭐ patience
⭐ kindness
⭐ turn-taking
⭐ no shouting out
⭐ gentle encouragement
⭐ beautiful listening

The children were completely engaged in the magic of the story and mindfulness became something natural, joyful and meaningful.

At the end of the session the children coloured in their rockets to take home 🚀

I absolutely love teaching mindfulness this way. Through imagination and storytelling, children connect so beautifully with the activities and it becomes accessible to everyone, including children with SEN.

Mindfulness does not always have to look like sitting silently. Sometimes it looks like magical space missions, glowing stars, calm breaths and children shining together

After selling over 5,000 copies of My Magical Garden since it was first published, I’m so excited to share that the brand-new edition is now in its final stages!

The beautiful new front cover has been created, final checks are almost complete, and printing is due to begin this week!

What started as a heartfelt idea to help children explore their emotions, imagination, and wellbeing through creativity and choice has grown beyond anything I could have imagined. Seeing My Magical Garden being used in homes, schools, and wellbeing settings has been incredibly special.

This new edition feels like the beginning of another exciting chapter, and I can’t wait to share it with you all soon.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey, shared the book, and helped bring a little more calm, imagination, and magic into children’s lives.

There is something truly special about the connection between children and horses 💛

Our horse wellbeing workshops, with the Skreppa herd, are designed to give children and teenagers a safe, calm and nurturing space where they can simply be themselves, free from pressure, judgement and expectations.

Through gentle horse-assisted activities, mindfulness, creativity, nature connection and supportive social interaction, children are given opportunities to build confidence, regulate emotions, feel calmer and experience connection in a way that feels natural and safe.

The feedback from families has been deeply moving. Parents shared that their children left feeling:
✨ calmer and more regulated
✨ happier and more confident
✨ more willing to talk about feelings
✨ connected to nature and animals
✨ accepted for who they are

Many of the children attending live with anxiety, autism, ADHD, trauma experiences, sensory needs or difficulties with confidence and social interaction. Families repeatedly told us how valuable it was to find an inclusive space where SEN and neurotypical children could take part together in a gentle, understanding environment.

One parent shared:
“Experiencing a supportive and calm group setting where my child’s needs came first has really healed something within him.”

Another said:
“Her hyperactivity was accepted and they let her be herself.”

And another:
“My daughter felt valued and special through her connection with one of the horses.”

100% of parents said they would recommend these workshops to other families

We are so grateful to every family who trusts us with their children and to the beautiful Skreppa herd who continue to teach calmness, connection and emotional safety in the most magical way.
