🦸‍♀️💥 SUPERHERO DAY AT THE OAKES! 💥🦸‍♂️

WOW! What a SUPER day we’ve had! 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️❤️

A huge thank you to our very own Super Dog Albert 🐶🦸‍♂️ from Gentle Paws Therapy Dogs for bringing lots of cuddles, waggy tails and superhero magic! 🐾🥰

We were also joined by the amazing Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team 🚨⛰️, complete with their rescue vehicle! Our residents loved meeting the team and hearing all about the incredible work they do. 👏❤️

Our superhero mission then took us out into the community! 🚗💨 We visited Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, our local doctors and Acre Mills, delivering some SUPER cakes 🧁🦸‍♂️ as a little thank you to our amazing community heroes! ❤️

A massive THANK YOU to Team Oakes for organising such a fantastic day and helping our residents spread a little superhero joy! 🌟

A huge thank you to our new Head Chef, Paul, and his incredible kitchen team for all their hard work, dedication and commitment. 👏 Your passion and effort have truly paid off, and we couldn’t be prouder of you all.

🌞🦆 A Lovely Day at Shibden Park! 🦢🧺

Yesterday, our residents enjoyed a wonderful trip to The Mere Boating Lake. We had a lovely walk around the lake, taking in the beautiful surroundings and enjoying some fresh air. 🌳💚

To finish off a fantastic day, we settled down for a picnic together, topped off with a lovely cup of tea. ☕🥪

Packed Lunches at The Oakes – Giving Back to Our Community 💚

For the remainder of the school holidays, The Oakes will be offering packed lunches to anyone who would like one.

We’re proud to be part of our local community, and this is a small way for us to give something back and support local families during the school holidays. ❤️

📅 Our first collection will be Wednesday 26th at 11am.

Other dates are below with instructions.

If you would like a packed lunch, please contact the home by Tuesday to let us know, and then simply come along to The Oakes at 11am on Wednesday to collect it.

🌿🌸 A Lovely Trip to the Garden Centre! 🌸🌿

Our residents had a wonderful time enjoying a trip out to the garden centre! 🪴🌼

One of our residents, who is a keen gardener, was in their element and even gave our staff and fellow residents a little lesson about the different plants. It was lovely to see them sharing their knowledge and passion with everyone! 🌱💚

And, of course, no day out would be complete without a spot of lunch! 🍽️☕ Everyone had a fantastic time, with plenty of smiles, conversation and beautiful plants to admire.

On the 28th, The Oakes is transforming into SUPERHERO HQ for a fun-filled Superhero Day! 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️

We’ve got lots of super activities planned, including:

🚨 At 11am, we’ll be welcoming Mountain Rescue for a special visit! We’re so excited to have some real-life everyday superheroes joining us for the day! 🏔️🚑❤️

🎭 Superhero mask making
💪 Superhero exercises
🏆 Best Dressed Superhero Competition
…and plenty more heroic fun!

We’ll be crowning both a resident AND a staff member as our Best Dressed Superheroes, so capes, masks and alter egos are highly encouraged! 🌟

But the invitation doesn’t stop there… families and members of our local community are very welcome to join us too! Come dressed as your favourite superhero, create your own alter ego, or simply pop in and enjoy the fun.

❤️ And because we know that superheroes don’t always wear capes, we’re inviting ALL everyday superheroes to come and see us and enjoy a little treat on us!
