Being informed isn’t about creating the “perfect” birth.

It’s about understanding your options.

Feeling confident asking questions.

Knowing what choices are available to you.

And feeling like an active participant in your care, rather than feeling like things are happening to you.

As midwives, we’ve seen that when women and birthing people understand their options, they often feel more confident, more empowered, and more able to navigate whatever path their birth takes.

Because being informed changes more than your decisions.
It changes how you experience birth.

Of course you hope your birth goes the way you’ve imagined.

But what you’re really searching for is confidence in yourself if it doesn’t.

You want to know what your options are before decisions need to be made.

You want to understand what’s happening and why.

You want to know that if plans change, you’ll still be able to navigate it.

You want to feel confident asking questions.

You want to feel involved in decisions about your care.

And most of all, you want to feel prepared rather than powerless.

Being informed doesn’t guarantee a particular birth outcome.

But it can change how you experience the journey.

And sometimes, that can make all the difference.

You did not fail because birth took a different path than you hoped.

Not if you had an induction.

Not if you needed an epidural.

Not if you had a caesarean birth.

Not if your labour didn’t go to plan.

Not if you needed help along the way.

Birth is not a test that you pass or fail.

But if you’re reading this and feeling disappointed, heartbroken, angry, or grieving the birth you hoped for, we want to acknowledge that too.

Because knowing you didn’t fail doesn’t automatically take those feelings away.

You are allowed to hold both.

To know that you did not fail.

And to feel sadness about how things unfolded.

Both can be true.

Whatever your birth story looks like, your worth was never defined by the way your baby entered the world.

Reviews like this mean so much to us.

Not because they tell us we’ve done a good job, but because they remind us why we created The Midwives Circle in the first place.

Every woman and birthing person deserves to feel heard, supported, informed, and confident throughout pregnancy and birth.

Thank you for trusting us to be part of your journey.

Your subconscious mind absorbs more about birth than you realise.

The stories you’ve heard.
The fear.
The trauma shared online.
The “just wait until labour” comments.

All of it can quietly shape how you feel about birth long before your baby is even here.

That’s why birth preparation isn’t just physical.

Our labour and birth subliminal audio was created by midwives to help support a calmer, safer, and more positive mindset towards birth through gentle affirmations designed to work alongside relaxation and rest.

Because feeling calm, informed, and emotionally supported matters too.

If you’re pregnant and uncomfortable in this heat right now, you are definitely not alone.

Between the heat, restless sleep, swelling, and exhaustion, pregnancy during hot weather can feel incredibly draining.

A few things that may help:
• Cold flannels or cool showers
• Extra fluids little and often
• Feet up when you can
• Loose cotton clothing
• Rest without guilt

Your body is already working hard enough growing your baby.

If you’re pregnant during this heat, be extra gentle with yourself.

Hot weather can make swelling, dizziness, tiredness, dehydration, and pregnancy discomfort feel even more intense.

A few reminders from a midwife:
• Keep a water bottle with you
• Rest when you need to
• Avoid being out in peak heat where possible
• Wear loose clothing
• Contact your maternity unit if you feel unwell or notice reduced movements (day or night)

Pregnancy in the heat is hard.

Do whatever you can to stay cool and hydrated.

Meet my very own Hypnobirthing babies.

The ones who changed everything I thought I knew about birth.
