Toxic / sh*tty relationships in your 30s can equal:
revenge body,
new hair style,
getting back to the gym,
meeting your friends LOTS, dressing up,
having fun,
having more fun,
Insta pics showing HOW WELL you are doing.

All that changes when you’re 40+…
You have no interest in revenge. You definitely don’t invite chaos into your life
Because you’ve been there, done that and have the tear-stained t-shirt - and on reflection, you can now see how incredibly unhealthy that relationship was.
You crave peace,
freedom,
sitting alone,
appreciating the calm that surrounds you – knowing that it won’t (and can’t) be disrupted.

You enjoy slow mornings …the ones where you don’t need to have a plan. The ones where you can choose what you want to do, without the pressure of someone else trying to dictate your day.

You enjoy time alone …because there’s no one there, insisting they are with you constantly – cancelling their own plans so they can be with you (even though you didn’t ask them to and certainly don’t want them to), they turn up unannounced because they “missed you” – then stay …even all you wanted to do was enjoy your day off alone.

You eat what you want ...because you can. Because there’s no one there to comment on what you’re eating, or how much you’re eating, or how little you’re eating.

You wear what you want …and don’t receive an interrogation – “Why are you wearing that? You must be trying to get someone’s attention”

You talk to who you want …because you can be friends with other people – even those of the opposite s*x!! – without it inciting manipulation
“Why are you talking to them – you’re not single”
“Why do you need to spend time with other people, you’re supposed to love me”
“WHY do you want to go out alone, we’re supposed to be a team”

You’re just YOU. And you finally realise that’s the best feeling there is.

PS…
If you’re reading this having left a toxic relationship and wishing you felt the same way – you can and will get there. Because you made the choice to leave and now you have many more choices you can keep making to rebuild your own life.

If you’re new here, I’m Aimee Heaton, founder of From Past To Purpose® I took my own personal experience of being in an abusive relationship and later being diagnosed with trauma – at which point my mission became not to have any woman feel the way I did at that time.

Since then, I’ve turned my past horrible experience into my purpose – I’m now an award-winning Trauma-Informed Personal Transformation Coach & Astrology Guide.

My coaching meets women where they are, but I refuse to leave them there. Healing is about rebuilding your confidence, reclaiming your voice, and learning that peace can be powerful.

I’d love to connect with you! Feel free to contact me with any questions or to chat 🩷

Are you a business owner who’s been reading my Start Again September posts and sitting there thinking: “That’s me!! - only it’s my business!”

Perhaps your business no longer feels aligned with who you are?

You’re doing plenty but can’t work out what actually deserves your attention?

Your offers, priorities or message may have evolved into a bit of a tangled mess?

Or maybe everything looks reasonably successful from the outside, but behind the scenes you feel stuck, invisible or unsure how to explain what you actually do?

The answer isn’t to add more tasks to your list, copy the latest marketing trend or throw your entire business away and start again.

Sometimes you need to step back and ask:

✨ What still fits?

✨ What has changed?

✨ What do I want my business to be known for?

✨ How can I talk about it with greater clarity and confidence?

That’s exactly what Jo Heaton-Marriott and I will help you explore at our Sisters in Business: Power, Purpose & Profile event.

This small-group workshop is for business owners who are starting, changing direction or know that something simply isn’t clicking.

We’ll help you reconnect with the purpose behind your business, clarify your message and become more confident introducing yourself and talking about what you do - whether that’s online, on video or in a room full of people.

You’ll leave with a clearer brand statement, a stronger elevator pitch and a much better sense of how to communicate the value of your work.

You don’t need to arrive with a perfect idea or polished message. You just need to be ready to step back, see the bigger picture and get clearer about what you want to build next.

If your Start Again September is really a “my business needs a reset” September, why not come and join us?

Only £58 for 3-hours investment.

Do you feel like something needs to change but you can’t work out where to begin?

Your work might be taking over your life?

Your relationships may be receiving all your energy?

Your confidence might have improved while your sense of purpose has disappeared?

Or everything may look reasonably “fine” from the outside, yet still feel unbalanced or unfulfilling?

My Wheel of Life session helps you step back and look at the different areas of your life together, rather than trying to fix whichever problem feels loudest that day.

During the session, we explore:

✨ how satisfied you currently feel in different areas of your life

✨ which areas need more attention or support

✨ where imbalance may be affecting your overall wellbeing

✨ what matters most to you at this stage of your life

✨ realistic priorities and next steps

You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to change as the session is designed to help you see the bigger picture, understand what needs your attention and create a clearer direction forward.

To book or discuss whether it’s the right session for you, send me a message or visit www.frompasttopurpose.co.uk

September is Self-Improvement Month - but self-improvement doesn’t have to mean treating yourself as a problem that needs to be fixed.

We all learn something every day, whether we consciously realise it or not. This month simply encourages us to become more intentional about what we want to learn, understand or change.

Self-improvement will mean something different to everyone. You might want to master a new skill, explore your spiritual life more deeply, progress in your career, improve your relationships or overcome something that has been holding you back.

The goals and paths may be different, but they all begin with learning.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can learn is why you think, feel and respond in the ways you do.

That is at the heart of SteadyHeart™.

SteadyHeart combines trauma-informed learning, psychology, coaching and insights from your birth chart to help you:

✨ understand how past experiences may still be influencing your thoughts, emotions and relationships
✨ recognise patterns that developed to protect you
✨ rebuild trust in yourself and your decisions
✨ understand and communicate your emotional needs
✨ create clearer boundaries without being overwhelmed by guilt
✨ feel safer expressing who you really are
✨ develop healthier, more secure relationships with yourself and others

This isn’t self-improvement based on becoming more productive, more impressive or more acceptable to other people.

It’s about understanding yourself more deeply so you can make choices from greater awareness, confidence and self-trust.

My next SteadyHeart masterclass takes place on 16 September, and the next five-week SteadyHeart programme begins on 22 September.

If you’re ready to stop judging your patterns and start understanding what they have been trying to do for you, message me for more information or head to:

If September has made you feel as though you should be doing more, pause before filling your diary and try this return-to-yourself reset instead.

1. What do I want to continue?

Notice what is already working. Not everything needs to be replaced simply because a new season has begun.

2. What am I ready to reduce?

This could be a commitment, expectation, habit or relationship dynamic that has been taking more from you than you want to keep giving.

3. What do I need to protect?

Perhaps it’s your time, energy, sleep, creativity, family life or emotional wellbeing. If something matters, it may need a boundary around it.

4. What do I want to reconnect with?

Think about the parts of yourself that have been pushed aside while you were coping, caring for other people or meeting everyday demands.

Then choose one small action from your answers.

Not ten new habits or an entire life overhaul - unless that feels right for you.

Just one decision that brings your life slightly closer to what you genuinely need and value is enough.

Does September feel like a second January to you??

The summer is ending, routines are returning, schools are reopening and suddenly there’s pressure to get organised, become more productive and sort out everything you didn’t manage during the first eight months of the year? 🤯

You don’t necessarily need a completely new routine, an unrealistic list of goals or another plan built around everything you think you should be doing though - sometimes the most helpful reset isn’t about becoming someone "new" - it could just mean:

- recognising that your priorities have changed.
- accepting that you have less capacity than you expected.
- reintroducing something that previously helped you feel grounded and you forgot about by March.
- letting go of a commitment that no longer feels right.
- or deciding that the way you’ve been living doesn’t reflect what matters to you anymore.

Before you decide what you’re going to add to September, ask yourself:
What would help me feel more like myself again?

I’m delighted to be speaking at the next event in The How series:
𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐮𝐦𝐚 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝, 𝐁𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐥?

Trauma is often misunderstood as being limited to one sudden, catastrophic event. But it can also develop through experiences that happen repeatedly, gradually or over a prolonged period and its effects do not always look the way people expect.

You may know logically that you are safe, yet your body still feels on alert.

You may understand what you “should” do, but find yourself freezing, avoiding it or repeating a familiar pattern.

You may overthink decisions, struggle to trust your judgement or wonder why seemingly small situations create such a strong reaction.

These reactions are not evidence that your brain is broken. Trauma can alter the way the brain and nervous system detect and respond to potential threat.

This means that cues associated with a past experience may trigger hypervigilance, avoidance, fight, flight, freeze or shutdown before the thinking part of the brain has fully assessed whether you are in danger now. These responses may once have helped you cope or stay safe, but they can continue automatically long after the circumstances have changed.

During this webinar, I’ll explore how trauma can affect the way we think, feel, respond and relate to ourselves. We’ll look at what can happen within the brain, body and nervous system, as well as the impact trauma can have on identity, connection and our sense of who we are.

This webinar may resonate if you want to understand your own responses with greater compassion. It would also be valuable if you support clients, manage employees or want to better understand someone in your personal life. You do not need to diagnose or “fix” another person to support them more effectively but understanding what may be happening beneath their behaviour can change the way you respond.

My aim is to help people understand their brain so they can begin working with it, rather than constantly feeling as though they are fighting against it.
