Yesterday’s new postural stability class at Bakewell was a great success. It’s close to full already 😊

Today is open morning at Hognaston village hall with my new postural stability class starting here next Wednesday (16th) 11am - 12noon.

I keep my class sizes to around 12 people to ensure I can give everyone my best support; developing their strength, cardiovascular fitness, flexibility and movement.

I’m part of Age U.K. Derby & Derbyshire’s approved instructors for their Live Stronger For Longer programme as a level 4 qualified Postural Stability Instructor and Level 5 Health Coach.

Please drop me a message for further details on my classes and private 1-2-1 training.

So, the first of my new postural stability classes are starting this week in Bakewell. Never in a million years would I have expected to be working in this beautiful market town; nestled in the heart of Derbyshire Dales.

Classes start this Tuesday 8th September; running between 1.30pm - 2.30pm and are £6 per session. A great way to build your strength and fitness in a safe way using resistance bands and your own body weight.

Please message me if you’d like more details 😊. I’d be more than happy to give you a call and explain how these classes work and can improve your fitness and mobility.

Back from my summer break 😊

It’s been a month of exploring; both the Derbyshire and Yorkshire Dales. Still getting used to the fact that I’m in the middle of the U.K. now and places that seemed distant lands are now just a few hours away.

I’ve taken to sauna life… the felt hat is a game changer 😆😆. Huge thank you to Emma Mardava for introducing me to Kate . I’m hooked and already booked in for September.

Felt honoured to join the The Wildflower Community Choir and sing at Chatsworth House last month (hence the floral hair-do pic) Wish my Mum could have seen that. A day I’ll always remember.

I’m back in the work saddle today with 2 private classes and a 1-2-1 health coaching client to end the day.

Got lots of news to share but I’ll do that next week with details on two new classes I’m starting, two talks I have coming up; and some new training I’m working on. All exciting stuff 😊😊

Hope you are all well and ready to embrace the cooler days of Autumn. It was a stifling hot August and I’m sure glad to have the rain back.

Just one photo to sum up the week. Singing with all my heart at the Love Belper Festival with family.

I joined the choir for friendships and fun but it’s surpassed all my expectations. It’s beyond uplifting to sing and you have to build trust with your choir mates to ensure you sing in unison and in the right harmony. It’s powerful stuff and I’m hooked.

Now I’m getting ready to slow down a bit and see my family. I’ll be off social media for August and taking time off over the bank holiday.

Huge thank you to all who are supporting my growing business in health coaching. I’ll be back in September with some exciting news 😘 xx

This week in 4 photos….

SATURDAY: was open gardens of Winster. Well done to all involved in the village; so much hard work paid off. It was a brilliant event and lovely to see some of my clients exhibiting their beautiful gardens.

MONDAY (and THURSDAY) I was teaching my postural stability classes all day. Lots of focus on balance and leg strength this week. Everyone is progressing so well with many able to hold balances without the support of a chair any more.

TUESDAY: was health coaching day; working with a private client in the morning. Focus here will be fortnightly sessions to improve gut health, sleep pattern and pain management. 1st session this week so it was an in depth consultation to set the goals and start the process of gradual change towards better health.

In the afternoon, I took some Essex friends to Curbar and Baslow Edge. They are up here in the Peak District for a holiday and I’m squeezing in some sights for them around work. It was a beautiful day and the views out to the Chatsworth estate were stunning as always.

WEDNESDAY: I visited my old class at Buxton. My colleague Natasha has taken over the classes now and is doing a brilliant job with everyone. But so lovely to see everyone and see how well they are doing.

In the evening, our last choir rehearsal at Belper Community Choir before we sing at the Love Belper event this weekend… eek!

FRIDAY: this morning , I returned to healing work; on a client with an injured foot. It felt so good to be back in the saddle with energy work.

Now to get ready for another sightseeing afternoon with my Essex friends. Will share photos next week. But have a great weekend everyone. 😊

Yesterday’s herbal workshop with was so enlightening …. looking at calendula, rosemary, lavender, fennel, mint and comfrey. Enjoyed herbal teas, home made lavender cake and making a rosemary and comfrey salve.

Feeling inspired to make more of my own now.

I'm not so good with regular updates on social media. So, here is my week in a photo….

SUNDAY: a visit to Calke Abbey. It was hot and the grounds were baked but the display of dahlias looked stunning; convincing us Wirksworth Community Growers that we needed to grow more varieties next year.

I’m a regular volunteer at the Wirksworth Community Garden; a community space for growing vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers. As well as being a gardening volunteer, I’m the blogger! Feel free to follow us on Instagram or join our Facebook group if you want to see what we get up to.

MONDAY: is my Live Stronger for Longer teaching day. Always a full on day but love every minute; developing postural stability in the over 65’s as part of the falls prevention programme.

TUESDAY: is a Pilates morning - an online session for myself with Alison Adams. Alison is an amazing instructor and helps me through a range of joint injuries and keeps my back in check. Really looking forward to our menopause event in October with Paula Greensted.

Tuesday afternoons are my 1-2-1 coaching sessions. This week, I was working at a client’s home and had to take a picture of the views on my travels. Pinch myself every day that this is my daily commute in the Derbyshire Dales.

Tuesday evening was the monthly women’s circle hosted by Annie Webster. Meditation and reflection on the lawns of the beautiful Orchard View, in Hognaston, with cacao in hand. We finished with poetry and I chose Donna Ashworth’s “Let Her Out”. Find it to read if you can.

WEDNESDAY: a trip to Bakewell to find a venue for a new postural stability class I’ll be starting. More details on that to follow 🤞🏻🤞🏻

The evening was choir rehearsal with Belper Community Choir as we are getting ready to sing at the Love Belper festival. Excited and nervous all in one about that prospect!

THURSDAY: is my private postural stability classes. Currently one in Hulland Ward at the Age UK Derby & Derbyshire day centre and another in Winster.

FRIDAY: is private coaching again this morning but I have an afternoon to myself today for a herbal workshop in Matlock. I am so looking forward to this 🌺!!!

It’s all go but all good! Enjoy your weekend everyone. 😊

Bookings for our workshop "Taking The Stress Out of Menopause" are now live 🙂. Saturday 10th October in Chelmsford, Essex.

This is the workshop I have been working on with .aa and ; bringing all of our knowledge together to bring an educational yet nurturing day for women in the peri and menopause phase of life.

As women on the menopause journey ourselves, we know how stress plays a big part on how we experience symptoms. Each of us has different skills; and ones that we have used ourselves, to help make the menopause path an easier one.

As a Pilates and Womens Health Practitioner, Alison will bring gentle pilates exercise and breathwork to the day; giving particular focus to the influence of stress on the pelvic floor.

Paula is a Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapist and will be guiding us through relaxation techniques to reduce stress and anxiety.

And I will be covering diet and nutrition as a Naturopathic Health coach; reviewing everyday food and drinks that can exacerbate symptoms and provide healthier alternatives.

Spaces have purposely been limited to 10 to ensure everyone feels supported during the day. So please reach out if you want to know more. You can contact me directly by WhatsApp on 07796405312.
